Jealousy…envy…. As a Bear fan I at first thought we’d keep Fields and get draft haul. All I heard about Williams outside of football was negative. Once we drafted him and I started watching him …. Love the guy 🤷🏻‍♂️😊. He’s seems to be a great guy with a personality. I think Bear fans for the most part are cautiously optimistic…. I think any fan in any city would be with the team on paper this year. Poles has definitely put together a team that has a chance to be special. Fan for 62 years and biggest build up to a season as I’ve seen 😊. Hoping for the best 🤞🐻🔽

The SNL skit was based off of a WGN radio sports show that was aired in the mid 1980’s specifically during the success of the ‘85 Bears. The sportswriters include Jerome Holtzman, Bill Jaus, Rick Telander , Bill Gleason, and the moderator was Chuck Swirsky. This was before sports radio was on across the country. ( u believe the FAN was just beginning in NY. Many of these writers were obviously Chicago residents and talked like that in real life. It was definitjy not professional broadcasters. But it was raw and enthusiastic and pure Chicago sports. Da Bears was how the south sliders particularly would pronounce the The Bears. Chicago actors from second city actually write the skit. (Same people wrote Bleacher Bums.) The actors included Bill Paxton and Joe Mantegna (?) It aired on SNL during 85 when Da Bears had captured da hearts of the national with a cast of characters and one of the greatest football teams of all time. And as we have n it thing but 85 to hold onto it is a reminder of Glory Days! ( cue Briuce Springsteen)

if he's been watching pro football for the past 10yrs he's definitely seen commercials or pre-game skits for the Bears Super Fans. The NFL has revived them a few times for nationally televised games involving the Bears - notably the 2019 NFL kickoff game and NFL centennial. I think SNL has brought them back a few times as well.

Not sold on Caleb Williams. There's no guarantee he'll be any better than Trubisky or Fields. The Trojans were no better than average last season, 6th in the Pac 12. Both Washington, with Penix, and Oregon, with Nix, were better.

We’ve been in a cycle for being good for 2 years, year 3 we just make the playoffs then year 4-6 there’s another regime change. The exact same things fields struggled with is what Caleb struggled with in college and both were due to lack of help around them. This we’ll be the first time in Chicago bears history the offense has potential to be match the top 5 defense. I just worry will the pressure be too much
