You can see in this that a) Jack is exactly who you think Jack might be, and b) that Jack extended an olive branch of confidence to Kevin, by being completely authentic in a moment of grief. What a way to try to break through Kevin's self-imposed barriers.

Been a big fan of Kevin ever since 1977. I was working at The Antique restaurant in Los Gatos and he was a good friend of our head bartender. He would do his Columbo routine for the bar crowd and it always killed!

#1 I find it surreal that Nicholson told him this. #2 Any time an actor with Nicholson's reputation asks you "You wanna know surreal?" you just know a bomb's about to go off in the room so pay attention. Great story.

My brother and I saw Kevin doing standup in a tiny comedy club back in the 80s before he was really famous. He absolutely killed. He was so freaking funny and did such brilliant impersonations. We knew he was going to be a star.

Hearing this well known story about Rob Reiner making the actors do 20, 30, and even 40 takes for scenes reminds us of how much better of a director Clint Eastwood is. Eastwood is famous for having actors do 2 or 3, and even just one take for a scene if he sees perfection right away. FACTS.

Kevin Pollak is such a down to earth and cool guy. I was lucky enough to work as an extra on the film goalie where he was the headliner and he chatted with everyone like he knew us for years. Damn good actor to.

In college a friend had some tickets to one of the '77 World Series games at Dodger Stadium, and Jack Nicholson was sitting 3 rows behind me. When I got up to go get a hot dog and a drink Jack looked at me and said "Hey, kid, how ya doin'?" I was stunned, and answered "The Dodgers are beating the fucking Yankees and Jack Nicholson just said hi to me! I'm doing Great!" He cracked up and said "That's fuckin' great, kid. Enjoy the fuckin' game." Then he laughed again and gave me a high five.

Kevin is one of the best parts of this movie. Theres so much to that character. Its clear he disposes the defendednts because he was bullied growing up, he has nothing but empathy for Santiago. Hes the reason Dawson takes responsibility for the duscharge. This is one of the greatest films of all time

Kevin is always a delight to watch but kudos to the crew of TRES for letting him speak without interruption. I like The Michael Rosenbaum's how due to his cool guests and interesting conversations but he, quite often, cuts the guest and yaps a while killing the momentum and somehow making it all about him, even if though it is only momentarily.
