i think this says everything about Saleh and his integrity, more so than anything else. he had to make a difficult decision here: not only to bench wilson, but to have to face the press and discuss why he made that decision. i think it was the right call for sure and sends a message straight to the defense - that saleh expects accountability from wilson, and won't stand for him not taking accountability. if saleh hadnt made this move, and wilson had another shitty game, the tension in the locker room would become unbearable and the players, would most likely stage a mutiny against wilson

This is a very good move by Saleh! Glad to see he’s finally stopped coddling Zach. I’m also happy that he’s starting Mike White over Flacco. However, I still would like to see some serious consideration for Streveler! After all, Mike White only had one good game. I still think Streveler (who was part of a championship team in the CFL) has more potential upside than Mike White.

Most of the QB's back then didn't start Year 1. That's been the biggest mistake of the modern QB approach - only a very few can handle the jump to the NFL right away. They all should be seasoned, but that '5 year window' garbage forces their hands it appears.

Watch all 20 NFL games that Zach has played and then say that. After 20 games, his stats are tracking the same as Jamarcus Russell. Zach has all the physical tools, but he’s lacking something between the ears. At some point you have to stop being patient and cut your losses, especially as good as the rest of the team is now. As a Jets fan, I hate to say it, but Zach is simply not an NFL quarterback.

One of the first things to remember about being a quarterback is that you want to remember that you have to ALWAYS be getting better. You have to ALWAYS be learning and improving. If you regress, and don't improve, then you are OUT.

I will agree that Zach needs to grow up and be a Man and a leader as the QB! However in Zach Wilson’s Defense the Jets/Wilson played against very tough Defenses that even top Qb struggle against Denver, Patriots 2X, Bills. So tough 4 game stretch & without their Best Rb. So with all that said the best thing for Zach Wilson to do is press the reset button and work as hard as he can to not only get the trust of his teamates back but firstly look at who he is a person, player, teamate!

I agree with everything Rich said 110%. The basics are missing, he needs to set his feet, hang tight in the pocket and deliver accurate balls. It’s nuts how he doesn’t have these things down yet. You see in his best games that he’s doing all those things it’s just baffling as to why he can’t do them every week. Benching him isn’t ending his career, it’s just after these performances and then that awful interview it was the right move to make for now. Excellent handling of the situation by Saleh, accurate analysis by Rich. Hoping Zach can get his act together and become the QB and leader this team so desperately needs
