This is an amazing documentary, you nailed it with storytelling. We travelled the same route eastwards from Reykjavik in Feb 2023 and watching this brought back so many great memories. Can't wait to do it again and possibly cover the Highlands this time which wasn't possible in deep winters.

@@pacifist1360 it’s funny, we spent about 8-9 days there and first couple were in Reykjavik where we paid for a tour but had no luck in spite of hunting until 2-3am both nights. Next leg of the trip we stayed in a cabin far from any settlement near Kirkjubæjarklaustur and had aurora borealis right outside our cabin almost every night while we were there. It was quite an experience.

12:16 has me speechless. Just so many unbelievably cinematic drone shots, of the braided rivers and mulagljufur canyon especially, but throughout the whole video as well. Currently planning my first trip to Iceland, and until I get there, I will be watching this on repeat. Would really appreciate it if you could share the location/google maps pin of where you shot the braided rivers! No way I can miss it while there, not after seeing this 🙏

Thank you! This was in March. If you have snow gear, I'd recommend taking that. Planning your layers goes a long way. Also a good rain jacket and windbreaker is worth it's weight in gold. Solid hiking boots and a pair of crampons as its often very icy and slippery. Lastly, a good pair of gloves.

@giladtopaz I'd say there was high wind roughly 50% of the time. A couple times where it was too strong to safely do much but for the most part it was tolerable. The mavic 3 is a beast and handled some pretty windy conditions, but do this at your own caution and if it's a smaller drone, I wouldn't recommend when it's that windy.
