Hype or resale value doesn't instantly make a shoe good - it's all it does - makes the shoe instantly expensive. Always go for your aesthetics and what you think fits your fashion/style and don't worry about the hype or resale. Of the two, resale is the only one that should affect you since it directly determines just how much money you'll need to spend to get it In this vid, however, they're just comparing hype shoe vs. hype shoe so it's not a question of whether the hype makes them better but rather the overall aesthetic as well as the cultural impact of the shoe on sneaker culture

It’s interesting because in the ‘Best sneakers of the year so far’ on the Complex Sneaker Podcast they discussed how no one is actually wearing their a Chunky Dunks. Love your guys content, but I think you missed the mark huge on calling the Chunkys (which are novel, but hard to pull a fit off) rather than the Travis. If you think about it the chunky dunky had a wider release compare to the Travis dunks. The Travis dunks were only obtainable thru his site and skate shop raffles. With the chunky dunky there was a SNKR release and skate shop raffles and then there was another restock on the chunky dunky on SNKR for selected users.

I laughed when Biohack and Turbo’s came up. I hit on biohack and payed resale for Turbo’s. Tbh the Turbo’s with the purple laces are Hornets colors and they are HARD. Also, materials are more comfy. Biohacks way more out there. Still fun to style, but stiffer, and the tongue is particularly stiff, at that. I love my Biohacks, but I LOVE my Turbo’s. Tbh tho, the Turbo’s were the shoes I first bought when I was getting into sneakers, so they’ll always have that spot for me. When I look at em, I just smile

Unpopular opinion: In terms of design (not material quality), I think the Union 4 releases were more original and ambitious than the Union 1 releases. Union LA took 2 original colorways of the Air Jordan 1 High OG and stitched them together. In contrast, Union LA took the Jordan 4 and made it their own with a unique tongue stitch that separated resellers from buyers!
