I purchased a "Free TV Box" with a lifetime subscription, just to find out it expired after 2 years. When I called to ask why, they said the company was purchased and the new owners offer you a year-by-year service for $100 a year. Now it is just a paperweight.

I got mine yesterday & returned it today. OS is Android 11, will not allow an update, and will not run half of the apps my family is interested in - particularly HULU. Also, I was unable to find any videos on how to use it and it is the most inconsistent and confusing mess that I have encountered in a long time. Pay attention to the Tetris-style packing job so that you can repack it properly to send it back.

Other supposedly 8K devices claim to support 8K and HDR but I haven't found one that supports both at the same time. Most devices support HDR until it reaches 8K resolution and then switches to SDR. I'm wondering if this one is the same.

one thing no one ever talks about is actually using the box to watch your favorite show or movie, is the BUFFERING. i have the X1, buffering is horrible at times. you contact support and the answer is always the same, " it looks good on our side, you need to clear cache, clear data, power off for 10 minutes, turn back on and update." i can tell you those steps never fix any thing.

Looks a decent enough box but definitely would not be paying anywhere near that price. Remember the box itself is fine but the subscription services are illegal and could go offline permanently at any moment because being illegal any guarantee wouldn't be honoured leaving you with a regular TV box that's not really much different to any other box costing £20 to £30.

The "catch up" tab will allow you to go back up to 7 days and watch any programs/episodes/movies that you may have missed on "live TV". Like if you missed the "big game" last sunday, you can go back and watch it.

The big reason why this box costs so much is the IPTV apps, and you did not cover them very well. Do they have all the local channels? All the Premium channels? All the sports channels? News channels? What about a DVR feature?

There is no "absolute best" because it depends on the individual situation. You have to consider price, performance, functionality, and tech support to determine whats right for you. If you have the cash laying around, get the Tanggula Elite Max 2, or Superbox Elite Ultra. If your on a budget, grab the ONN or the G96 Max for about $30.

Will this box install and reliably run the 'Movie HD' streaming app (for movies/TV series, available from the 'Movie HD Official' website)? I've tried doing this on Roku, Chromecast and a couple of other cheapo Android TV boxes but, sadly, no go. It IS an app I use regularly. I'm not sure if it is the Android TV OS or not, as the 'Movie HD' app works fine on my phone and ageing Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet (which I currently use as a form of TV box... 😎🇬🇧

It's an improvement, and yeah MovieHD works fine on this S5e. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a new Tab S9/10/11 etc 😏🤣🤣👍 😎🇬🇧

Because the price includes a prepaid subscription to their IPTV service. These guys have been in biz for years but they could close up shop at any moment. However, smarter move is to buy an Nvidia Shield or Fire TV Cube 3 and subscribe monthly to your choice of IPTV services for around $20/mo or less. They’re targeting Boomers that want something that’s plug and play so they can cancel cable. They’ll be fine with HDR 10 instead on Dolby.

wtf !!! this ugly android system only reminded me of my first android tv box which came around the corner years ago with 4 gb ram and 64 gb... here we are talking about a good media player to let your own libraries shine well and neatly organized and with the necessary knowledge and scrappers to a handsome home library with all the information you need. information about which sound output is supported is neither to be read anywhere nor mentioned in any video... high end streaming box with stereo sound or at best dolby digital ??? completely overpriced the whole thing, any form box is more fun with just one app for watching iptv where i have all the streaming providers i need in one place, can integrate my nas and thus have several TB of storage available, 8K ? Why ? at least people already own an 8k tv which is not even broadcast in this form and will take years to establish itself and reach the masses as a consumer, 4k and good sound (in my case Dolby Atmos / DTS :X are for a good streaming experience...). even better than the x5 advertised here is the Zidoo Z9X Pro Multimedia Player 4K HDR Android 11 OS TV Box, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 4K HDR 3D Player, Atmos, Auro 3D, 5G WiFi 6 with its only 32 gb mmc darm but the complete package and the technology that harmonizes perfectly in the player are far more worth your money than the X5. just found that neither DTS or ATMOS are supported due to lack of licenses and only passtrough is possible... a cheek and more than a joke on the end consumer to call such a price
