Disgusting why is it these rentals alway put carpet in the units? Its filthy and hard to keep clean. Not to mention stains never come out. No body builds with carpets and its bad for your health traps mites, dirt, skin and germs.

Only the bedrooms are carpeted. You can rent a carpet extractor from several businesses around town. It's a berber carpet.

These machines, provided by Sparkle Laundry, use barely any water, the clothes only get dipped into the few inches of water at the bottom of the drum's cycle. Clothes always come out smelling unwashed and if you put 10-15 articles of clothing into your bathtub, after they have been washed and dried, cover with water, and agitate for a few minutes, the water turns brown. We are forced to use the Sparkle machines, no machines allowed in units, so I prewash in the laundry room sink, filling the large sink up multiple times for prewash, wash and rinse, before transferring soaking wet clothes into washing machine. Sorry neighbours, for the floor always being wet. Wish I didn't have to hand wash my clothes before using these useless machines.

That all sucks. Truly however considering the current state of the housing list and there being thousands on it.. I think a looot of people would either put up with it or go to a laundry mat.. but just being able to have access to social housing is a privilege. I'm a low income individual who has no choice but to rent from Kijiji or Fb marketplace.. if I got the opportunity to live in social housing with affordable rent I'd put up with the laundry.. and also I've seen your exact comment on Google reviews for this building.. and between the ageist and racist tenants plus them "darned" 360 kids youth that live there the laundry seems like a minor issue. Even with all of those issues to have the opportunity to live somewhere I could pay Housing York's rent rate* it would be great for someone like me it would give me the chance to invest in my career and build myself up financially instead of having to live off of almost everything I ever get because I'm paying Kijiji and Fb marketplace rent rates. For those of us not living in social housing we get offered rent supplements but have to rent from the private market which our supplement budget doesn't even cover the rent for an average 1 bedroom on Kijiji and when an apartment in the budget comes available in the private/public market it's quickly swept up. Yet I don't have a choice the housing list being 14 years long keeps me renting from people on Kijiji and/or Fb Marketplace. It may sound rude but please try to appreciate your situation overall, you've beat the waitlist not a lot of us can say that! Try to have better days.
