I found a good deal on a rust free southern truck and took a one way flight to bring it back to Michigan! Will it make a 10 hour drive with no problems?

Bought from new 2000 swb 2wd reg cab Chevy 4.3 v6 Chevy Silverado. Put 350,000 on it and sold it to a kid who totaled it 6 weeks later. No doubt in my mind it would go 500,000.

I bought an 08 Ltz duramax last year, just hit 300k. Cleanest truck I’ve owned. Drives great after lowering the torsion bars. Zero blow by. Just try to keep it off the efilive hot tune. Mechanically sympathetic for it Rich Rules baby!

My 07.5 LMM is the best truck I’ve ever owned. I’ve owned it for twelve years and outside of maintenance and wear parts, I’ve only spent about $2000 on repairs. Pushes snow every winter and pulls equipment all the time. 260k fairly hard miles.

I live in northern maine. I just bought exact same truck from Georgia. Clean with 496k miles. Looks like it has 60k. Lol. Runs drives amazing. They are great. This past summer I hauled 15k + lbs all summer with 0 issues. I love it.

Make sure you relocate the transmission control module. They are known to overheat and cook the module. They are unobtanium due to a disagreement between Allison and gm, I've seen one take a full year to show up after it was ordered. They aren't cheap either

I think that there was a magic era for vehicles in the 2000's that was a cool time. Someone took care of that truck.

Did the same for my LBZ years ago, one way trip to Dallas. Was a great deal and ended up being a great truck. Definitely needed some work when I got it though. Nice to not have to worry about rust though. Had 453k miles when I sold it for almost twice what I bought it for 5 years prior.

With the composition of serpentine belts now they don't have to be cracked to be bad. They wear similar to tires and the groves will get wider making the belt walk side to side slightly in the pulleys causing noise... Keep that old belt though, you never know when you'll need to use it to pull a motor 😂.

I have an 08 GMC super clean take good care of it did the same check engine light came on I changed the air filter and cleaned the maf with break cleaner not a problems since love not having a payment nor DEF fluid

I have a 2007.5 lmm with 170k miles. Been running great for me. Had to replace a few things, thermostats, engine mounts, transmission cooler lines. I replaced other things but those are fun parts not maintenance pieces. Been super reliable other than those.

Definitely was the best choice too get rid of those fender flairs cause all they do is hide the rust that starts their. Id also get that truck under coated asap.

My 09 Chevy was very particular about the air filter I put a k& n and it would go in reduce engine power. I ran Donaldson filets the enter ownership and never had any more issues

I just picked up a 2009 lmm quad cab short box 4x4 with 365k 4 wheel works blows cold it has wi/fi rockers and cab corners but no leaks it’s 100% dry underneath. I picked it up for $1,000.00 it’s now my work truck my 13 lml can take some time off.

Up here in Alberta Canada I would probably give around $28k Canadian for it in that condition and that many miles. i have an 09 duramax same as that one with 168,000km or 104,000ish miles and Ive had to redo my rear wheel wells for rust but now its basically as clean as that one. Low miles though, I wouldn’t be scared of a duramax with over 250,000 miles though

I would sell the brand new truck and keep this truck I have a 2010 GMC 2500 got 220,000 on it now runs like a dream delete it tune it correctly and these trucks give Corvettes run for their money and can last over 400,000 easily just saying and payment free is the way to be!!!!

Last time I drove my truck from the west to visit friends in Michigan I brought my title with me just in case someone wanted to buy it lol. Everything is rusty in Mi. We dont see that kind of rust in the west.

I maybe wrong but that oil fill goes down to the pan, not connected to the valve covers. So that blowby test doesn’t work

Honestly expected more miles. That's under 20k per yr. My Dad's 2003 he bought brand new and had 297k mile by the end of 2010.. smidgen of 30k per yr. Being from Ohio, it had rocker/cab corner and rear wheel well delete in just 7 full winters.

Frames less rusty than 2018 silverados lmao. The truck i owned and daily drove the longest was a 08 silverado because they just work and last. Id take a obs or cateye first but the nnbs are magical, especially the diesels.
