Rick, Morty, Beth, have killed plenty of people (sometimes innocent people), so Morty knows they're awful, but Planetina was "good", he probably admired her for that, being "pure" in contrast of his family. Going with her was his way of trying to escape the toxicity that surrounds him. Also Beth finally acting like a mom was good development.

I imagine planetina as much as she was physically older than morty wasn’t mentally. She had spent her entire life being controlled by the tinateers being used only when needed or as a tool for advertising so of course she is emotionally stunted and as such experiences her entire teenage years right then and there with the feelings overflowing in both good and bad ways. Once she was finally free of her shackles she didn’t have the emotional ability to actually be good
@yessum152 жыл бұрын
Yup nailed it. The reactors missed this critical point. This was a story of a Morty who's outgrown his helpless child stage. He was the aggressive pursuer, and the one who dumped her. Planetina was the innocent child. When the "kids" exploited her, she followed orders. When Beth told her to leave Morty alone, she followed orders. When Morty announced that they were bf & gf, she went along with it. She's basically Morty from the episode "Guess Who's Purging Now". An innocent who does not have control over her life yet and does not have the maturity to control her emotions. As a result she can throw reckless tantrums. When Morty realizes they're not on the same level he has to break her heart and his own. Morty's greatest challenge used to be talking to women. But now that he's conquered that he thought it would be smooth sailing. In this episode he learns that love is still a fraught prospect.
