"I just try and stay positive and continue to work on music while pondering the greater purpose of life. Perhaps Donald Trump was put on this earth to be President, and I was put here just in order to play rhythm changes. Or maybe my purpose is not to play rhythm changes, but to teach others how to play over them. Beats me - and personally, I hope someone else becomes President in the next election. I think that Presidential changes are more important than rhythm changes." -- The late Charles Baty in conversation with JW Jones, used with permission from the latter. We did it, Charlie... we did it.

@@georgesimeone6292 yes, it's a Mendocino, but I had it custom made to my specifications. theres a second one very much like mine, that I had made for Walter Morgan jr. of the Sons Of the Soul Revivers, one of my favorite guitar players and good friends. @@Nitsua_Atayha masks don’t work
@RickMcCargar Жыл бұрын
@@Nitsua_Atayha wrong. I pointed out his anti-scientific mask rant. Every major study shows that masks do not stop viruses. Stop using shame and fear to get people to comply with b.s. In fact, the pre-pandemic plans were ignored. Those plans stated that masks don't work, lockdowns cause far more civilizational harm than any virus, NEVER introduce a leaky vaccine during a pandemic, and more. They ignored those because they lied to us and said it was a "novel" virus. They knew it was not a novel virus in the first month because most people had at least T-cell immunity to the virus, meaning our bodies HAD seen this basic virus before. They're teaching us to comply through fear. Next up, climate lockdowns. Stop complying with their lies and edicts!

Sadly, Rick had to go to politics. Up until then, I was a fan. No more. Why can't entertainers keep their politics to themselves and just entertain? By the way,Rick, how are things working out with Dems in control of the presidency and the Senate? Nobody gives a crap about your political opinions and you must be feeling a bit foolish about your self-righteous lecturing about masks with what we know now. Just do your act. But you lost this long-time fan.
@KidAndersen Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, listening and taking the time to write! And thanks for asking how things are working out. We are doing great, we won our second Blues Music Award for "Band Of The Year" in 2021, on the strength of these Can't Stop the Blues shows (our only public 2020 performances), and ever since things started opening up our shows have consistently attracted larger crowds than I have ever seen in my 15 years in the band. This was our 2nd CSTB show, you can find the first one here on my page too. It was one of the most watched blues streams of the pandemic ,particularly because of the immense worldwide popularity of "Dump That Trump". I'm sure you remember that one, since you seem interested in politics. Anyways, it's super cool to hear from a long-time fan. We always want to hear what our listeners think, what they feel about the things Rick writes about, and how it resonates with them. I know a lot of artists thinks that the audience should just "shut up, listen, and buy our music!" but we're not like that at all. I am very interested in your thoughts and feelings and I'm intrigued by your political views, and how they inform whose music you like. Nice talking with you, and hey, you keep doing YOUR act too! Wouldn't have it any other way, partner!
@mattfoley6082 Жыл бұрын
Bob Miller, in case you were asleep we had a 3 year long pandemic largely because self-righteous people like you chose to politicize taking precautions. I'll bet you even call yourself a pro-lifer. Now run along to your nearest Ted Nugent concert.
