17:08 so according to the creators.... that orange thing is the same race as the thing that was locked up. Killing that one killed the entire race and he did it because Rick couldn't cure the space aids due to it escaping. With that being said, if Rick got hit with that lazer, all Rick's would've died, and since Rick is Rick, other Rick's probably had the same idea, but it never worked out.

One of the creators of the show said that Mr. Poopybutthole is "perhaps" one of the parasites but a more advanced version that, instead of multiplying, actually becomes real from giving others more memories of himself. The creators of the show purposely refuse to fully confirm or deny his origin.

The parasite is full of wacky characters, funny flashbacks, tons of comedy. Its hard to imagine thst this is actually one of the darkest episodes in rick n morty. Imagine you had your house filled with 40-50 people youre close with, all your bestfriends friends family members , people youve known for years or youre whole life. And youre told they arent real and you have to massacre all of them.

Total Rickall my favorite episode. The first episode I watched and that got me into the show. The plot was so well done, a parasite pretends to be someone you know while planting pleasant memories lol.

Scoot did you ever go back and actually watch the intro to the parasite episode? Mr. Poopybutthole actually is in the intro. Its a hint that he's real that most people miss cause they skip it. I remember rewatching this episode and noticing it for the first time. Thought it was hilarious.

we're getting into the good stuff now. season 1 is still good, but it really felt like the writers started to find their footing in s2 and beyond, they start really developing rick's character as they get a feel for what they want to do with the show. so excited to see what you think of the rest of the episodes this season and especially the finale

I first saw Total Rickall while I was high and could NOT figure out if Mr. Poopybutthole was a parasite or not even after the ending. It bugged me so much I had to look up all the theories until someone quoted Dan Harmon calling him an advanced parasite. Like, yeah, everything points to MPB being a parasite with how more appear when he's around and how he's the one who wants out as SOON as the shields are put up, but he never reverted and kept showing up, and my brain could not handle it. I'm dry for the time being.

Sleepy Gary really cared for Jerry , the whole purpose of creating memories is to make up new characters and bring them to life yet the memory he created for Jerry was one where only the 2 of them existed lmao He really created that just bc he wanted to not to get more characters.

So supposedly the parasite episode is not our Rick and family. The Crystals Rick threw away at the beginning are the same ones we saw in the Fart episode/Jerry Daycare episode - which wasn't our Rick and Morty (ours spent all day at Blitz and Chitz) So Mr. Poopybutthole was always a part of THIS Rick and fam's lives. But it's a mindfeck for the audience too since we're expecting Rick C-137
