Rick Levine's June 2023 Astrology Forecast: PROGRESS OR REVIEW?

We are moving into new realms now that Mercury is free from its retrograde shadow. However, our thinking is quite sound while it speeds through the remaining degrees of practical Taurus. Events fly by faster once the Winged Messenger enters its home sign of adaptable Gemini on June 11. Mercury’s move into cautious Cancer on June 26 encourages us to process our emotions before communicating with others. While Mercury, Venus, and Mars are all forging ahead into new territory, the outer planets tell an entirely different story. Pluto retrogrades back into sobering Capricorn (also on June 11), where it remains for the rest of the year, finishing up its deconstruction of those things we thought to be most stable. Saturn barely moves one-quarter of a degree all month and turns retrograde on June 17. Neptune only moves about one-sixth of a degree, slowing down to start its retrograde phase on June 30. It may appear as if we are making progress, but this month is more foundational than progressive. Incremental change comes slowly, and sometimes it might even seem as if we are losing ground. Nevertheless, long-term transformation is inevitable and we must keep our eyes on the distance if we wish to claim our prize.
The Sagittarius Full Moon on June 3 at 8:41 pm PDT stirs up buried anxieties while the Moon forms a semisquare with Pluto and a sesquisquare with Venus as the Venus-Pluto opposition reaches perfection on the morning of June 5. Although Venus takes center stage as it moves into extroverted Leo, the cosmos invites us to delve beneath the surface and into the mysteries of hidden relationship dynamics. Shining light on our emotional shadows can be hard work but it yields great rewards. The Gemini New Moon on June 17 at 9:37 pm PDT is friendlier than the Full Moon, even if its square to Neptune presents us with uncertainty. We may be misled by someone we trust, or we could try to mislead others. Thankfully, Jupiter’s sextile to Saturn on the 19th and Mars’s trine to Chiron on the 22nd empower us to separate the fairytales from the real stories and the fantasies from the facts.
The Summer Solstice (in the Northern Hemisphere) is on June 21 at 7:57 am PDT, marking the Sun’s entry into emotionally protective Cancer. But uneasiness might be unavoidable while the Sun forms an irritating quincunx to Dark Lord Pluto. This time, it’s Mercury that flies to the rescue as it activates the Mars-Chiron trine with sextiles to both. Making an extra effort to communicate by listening as much as we speak can lead to solutions that were out of reach. The Mercury-Uranus conjunction on June 4 and the Mars-Uranus square on June 26 are like explosive bookends on the month that trigger brilliant thinking and surprising breakthroughs. Unpremeditated actions place previously impossible results within the realm of possibility.
The confusing thing about June is the apparent lack of progress, even though we are moving forward. But what we see is not exactly what we get as Neptune gains power from its approaching retrograde station on the last day of the month. Not all changes are observable; not all obstacles are negative. June may be a study in contradiction, yet our refusal to be thwarted by resistance, conflict, or unexpected circumstances is our secret weapon. Adversaries and adversities motivate us to focus on our ambitions. The Sun and Mercury trine Saturn on June 28-29, fueling the transformation as we slow down on our headlong rush into the future. Using our time wisely now enables us to reap rewards down the line. Authenticity and intentionality are the keys to our success.

Hi Rick! You’re a busy guy right now, aren’t you? I spent a few days in the Ozark Mountains a few weekends ago. Pluto basically blew up my 3rd house of immediate environment while I was there. It took my mother a few days to relax after I sat and chilled on the cliff of the mountains. An amazing experience looking down at the city lights in Arkansas. This last Mercury retrograde really helped with a breakthrough in my independence and risk taking. Mercury is moving into my partnership sector, and my best friend and I just had a heated disagreement about my taste in partners. A risk-taking Sagittarius and a wholesome Cancer being best friends can be a strange dynamic sometimes. I’m interested to see what this Grand Water Trine might bring up in all my relationships. The full moon and the Point of Thor also. Venus opposed Pluto is always fun (note the sarcasm). Mercury in Gemini sounds like a real relief from some of the drama. So does Venus in Leo. It’s funny to me that you mention the theme of “suppressing,” as I’ve been strongly considering a break from social media and even from my close friends, being sick of people’s judgments and unsolicited opinions. There’s a time to be a motormouth and a time to shut up and take care of business. It avoids that confusion you spoke of. Have a fantastic summer, Rick! 😊

That point of Thor you spoke about reminds me of the Lucifer's rectangle when it strikes the North and South node of Taurus Scorpio.. It's the same type of configuration Mr. Wizard. Aleister Crowley is notoriously known for the Lucifer's rectangle in his chart. It appears the point of Thor makes the same type of rectangle, only it doesn't hit Rahul Taurus Ketu Scorpio to forge the occulted masters configuration.

Venus my running planet trine Chiron and I got laid off with 61 others 😭 been there since March 2021, knew it was coming eventually but thought I had at least 2-4 wks minimum left (it's a contract position that is ramping down as the project is nearing it's completion). Would've loved to see it through to the very end, but alas, the so-called random number generator that selected us wasn't on our side that day or the 28th (whenever they used it to select us, probably late the 28th). Probably has more to do with Uranus opp my Saturn and Saturn opp my mars but the underlying disappointment is there too.

Oil is ultimately a Neptune substance (as are the oceans and alcohol), but since it comes from beneath the ground, it also has connections to Pluto. Nevertheless, it also has Uranus connections because it can be explosive, Mars connections because it releases energy, Venus connections because it is valuable, etc. Nevertheless, your observation is relevant and valid. 🙏

From my 50+ years of astrology experience, aspects DO NOT have an exact cut-off point. This belief is supported by the fact that so many experienced astrologers use different orbs! They work like radio stations; when they are closer to the radio receiver, the signal is louder. Also, there are many ways that a Venus-Pluto opposition (or any aspect) can be fulfilled and money is only one of them. Venus is, like all the planetary archetypes, multivalent. Venus can symbolize our values, our money, our pleasure, our relationship attachments, and more.
