I KNOW THIS IS GOING TO SOUND CRAZY, BUT IF HE WERE ALLOWED TO MOVE LIKE HE DID IN SOME OF THE EARLY EPISODES, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN BIGGER THAN HE TURNED OUT. HE COULD DANCE AND HAD A MIGHTY CHARISMA, EVEN IN HIS MID TEENS. I THINK OZZIE HAD A HAND IN KEEPING HIM LOW KEY. EVEN SO, WHEN I LISTEN TO HIS RECORDINGS THAT HE DID IN 57', I CONTINUE TO BE IN AWE OF HIS MATURE COMMAND OF HIS VOICE. IT'S DOING EXACTLY WHAT HE'S TELLING IT TO DO. SO REAL, SO HONEST AND SO PURE. RICKY NELSON.

I've been a big fan of his sons but have only recently started listening to Ricky. I may get laughed at for the music I listen to but to me this IS music. Not the stuff we have now.

Rick was definitely talented, he could sing, play guitar,paino and clarinet. He was the most hamsome and older gorgeous! There is in my opinion no more handsome guys like today in the music community. In 81they named one of the ten sexiest guys in the country!!!!! So sad he was taken so young!l he had so much more to offer! Harriet and Dave and his children would not have had to suffer so much!!! Well, they are all together now! All Rip!!!!!!!

Elvis was a huge Rick Nelson fan, and they became fast friends upon meeting one another. One has to have half a brain, to appreciate his understated rock 'n' roll. James Burton gets it. Just look at his sly grin. By this time Ricky was spending time, with the lovely and talented, Lorrie Collins. Time, well spent.

Kristi Simonon that's right. I remember Mom putting that stuff in my hair and coming it. I was in kindergarten in 1960. I hated that stuff! For teens and young men by 1957 that was a pretty common look. The parents did get a bit perturbed when the sideburns grew and the hair reached the neck collar in 1957! LOL!

Anyone who is a big fan of Rick Nelson's should do them selves a favor and search for some of the Ozzie Nelson Band videos. Ozzie got down. He was no Lawrence Welk. And Harriet Hilliard was a fine singer.

Ricky is earlier than Elvis? Elvis copied Ricky style?
@MemphisFlash842 жыл бұрын
No - Rick was known to Americans since he was a child on the tv show but he didn’t start singing til ‘57 a full year after Elvis had broken internationally. So Rick copied Elvis and all the other guys that came out of Sun Records…The tv show wasn’t even syndicated abroad so Rick was mainly known for being a singer, in Europe etc. rather than for being an actor.
