RICK PERRY: Former Texas Governor Interviews Marcus and Morgan Luttrell

This week’s TNQP guest needs no introduction. Former Texas Governor Rick Perry joins Marcus and Morgan, bringing to the table surprising stories of events and experiences with “The Luttrell Boys” - some previously known, and some unknown. Character and heroism are on full display in this episode, and Governor Perry makes no bones about how he feels about both of these patriots.
In this episode you will hear:
A call comes in from the command post. “Governor, there’s a young man down who said that you told him if he was ever through Austin to come by. Just to let you know, he’s here.” And I said, “Okay, what’s his name?” “Marcus Luttrell.” And I was like, “Hmmm…. Send him in.”
[Morgan] We’ve always started at the bottom and worked our way up. It was a fluid transition from the enlisted ranks.
If you want to effect change, then it’s time for you to man up and fill the seat. Quit yelling at the TV.
I get frustrated with the government from time to time.
Dr. Stanley Jones, I will always hold him in a special place because of his agreeing to do that initial work for Marcus.
When you [Morgan] crashed and ended up at the same place as Marcus, that was God’s way of tapping Marcus on the shoulder and saying “Hey dude, you gotta take care of your brother.”
The thing that amazes me about you guys is your fortitude after catastrophic injuries.
You guys have the most amazing discipline and character.
You reflect everything as a Texan. Texans and all Americans appreciate what you guys are all about.
They need people like you in the United States Congress, to show them what the military should be about.
You are fiercely loyal to your family, to your God, and to your state.
Team Never Quit is a really interesting concept, and no two people give a better reflection of that than Marcus and Morgan Luttrell.
I think America will be better off with another one of the Luttrell boys staying in the fight.

72 yr old retired lawyer in San Diego.I moved from NY in 78 and I would run my Golden retriever on the beach in Coronado.I would see guys my age running and getting yelled at on that beach.I didn’t know they were SEALS.Most nodded at me or commented as they ran by about my Golden.I read the books…saw the movie.As a second degree black belt I thought I was tough…ha ha yeah right.My hat off to the brothers.Warriors…smart…heros.Thank you for everything.Hope to God Morgan wins!

As a sixth-generation Texan, my family line being in Texas since 1823, I am proud to say I 100% support and look Trail Brothers. I have been a volunteer for Lone Survivor for over 11 years. Every opportunity I get that they are having an event, I will be there. One of the greatest honors I have ever had and a lone survivor event, was in October, when I got to meet and shake the hand of Marcus Luttrell. Also had the opportunity to have a photo taken with him. That was the number 2 bucket list item for me. It was only number two, because I will never achieve number one while on this Earth. I am trying cold to Governor Perry, for pointing out things I did not know about the brothers. I currently live in Willis Texas, where Morgan and Marcus did lot of their growing up going to school. One of my favorite items of knowledge, especially about Marcus, is when I found out that in high school he was a spindly kid, only 5 ft 8 in tall. I'm also proud to say I voted for Marcos. Thank you Governor Perry for taking the time to bring all these new insights about the brothers to those of us that care. I will continue to do all I can to support Morgan and Marcus in Lone Survivor. And for those who did not know, Lone Survivor is expanding their assistance to a new Endeavor, Northwest of Huntsville, a facility known as Camp coyote. Unfortunately, I was unable to give assistance when Lone Survivor needed it at Camp coyote this week due to work obligations. Again, thank you Governor Perry Morgan and Marcus. Some of us do still care.

Ricky Perry is right. The government can frustrating when it comes to offering services. This episode is very real and raw. Ricky Perry portrays Marcus as a human being who also struggled like we all do.
