Well think about it, everyone is welcome but yet the place is empty while the signs everywhere were old wich rises suspicions. A good detective would've noticed as soon as he saw how empty it is. And the lack of food in the area wich leads to this conclusion... i have a lesson for in real life: if someone helps you without a clear reason then be cautious of what they could do to you and if and what they could gain out of it this aplies mostly for strangers) be cautious in this world nobody helps you without a reason everyone has to get something out of you or at least get even with what they spend on you, there are few willing to lose food or whatever in situations like this just to help you they want something out of you 99% of the time and if there are signs everywhere that they help everyone then it's not trustable pretty much 100% of the time...

I think Rick really had his suspicions confirmed when he saw Glenn's watch, sure the armor, the bag and jacket, but that can easily be explained, the bag and jacket you would most likely see those at store like Walmart so they'd be easy to get ahold of, the armor would be harder but let's be real who wouldn't want armor in the apocalypse, but it's only until Rick sees the watch when he knew something was up, cause he knew only Glenn would have that watch

The hammer is forward on his 1911. If I am correct he literally cannot fire it because it is single action so pulling the trigger only released the hammer if pulled back (which it isn’t) meaning if he pulls the trigger nothing happens.
