Talked about this today. The city will benefit from Ross’s car show and collect large amounts of revenue. Not taking sides, but the city probably doesn’t like the “demonstrative statement” from Ross, in other words, they’ll get their cut on his terms, not theirs. I didn’t care for him before, but he had his bullet points in order like a true businessman. I’m convinced, and will start following him and his business endeavors for his intellect alone.

@@julian2524 Great question, but long answer. I’ve been following the drug trade from Ronald Reagan and the Nicaraguan War to what we’re dealing with now. FF to two rappers(he and “Freeway”) who ridiculously sued each other for the name-rights of the real drug dealer whose reputation(intellectual property) they profit from. This, and his previous employment as a security guard-to-“the other side” seemed shallow to me. In addition, I got irked by his use of the model’s voice saying, “Maybach Music” without compensation(regardless of the outcome). Alternatively, I’m obsessed with that digital, repetitious sound(think Public Enemy’s Terminator X) and listened to his music/lyrics. I liked it. Coming to an end, I thought he could have come up with a previous planned traffic solution, knowing he bought property for car shows in mind. NOW, I’m beginning to see his mastermind thinking at work.

I am well-acquainted with this community, as my sister lives in Fayetteville. It's an upscale, predominantly mature African-American community. Generally, the residents seem indifferent towards Rick Ross's car show. Given that Rick Ross's house is in a residential area, it's easy to visualize the potential disturbances: noise, young people causing a commotion, and a general lack of respect for the neighborhood. Additionally, the local roads are not designed to handle such high traffic. Therefore, it would be advisable for Rick Ross to relocate his event to downtown Atlanta or perhaps even rent a stadium.

The car show is on an estate and not a venue... that's why they are being denied. The HOA in that area probably doesn't allow that kind of stuff. If you violate your HOA you can be forced to sell your estate and move out of the community at the least fined.

The city cares about the traffic and neighbors complaining it took so long to leave their homes. Also if someone had a medical emergency the ambulance or fire trucks would be stuck in traffic. Its funny that he respected the city enough to ask for a permit when its on private property with ho neighbors in his immediate area to complain about the noise. The only time a city can shut down anything being held on a private property is when it comes to noise ordinance and they will have to be able to hear it from a certain distance from the property and it being a nuisance to someone. The city cant cite traffic as a reason to stop any event because the roads are paid for with gas taxes so anyone can drive anywhere they want and the city can not do anything about it

Its contained and possibly a collectors car show. Although, he sits on land the area surrounds other upscale and middle class homes. Car shows bring out different types of crowds that are based on what entity is hosting and the type of cars being shown. His event will clearly bring out people who no one wants around. It is what it is! His neighbors are predominately AA"s, late millennials to baby boomers, who worked hard to live decent lives and distance themselves from street culture. The problem is when black people see other black people the disrespect hits 100. He would not have hosted this car show if Fayetteville going into Old National was still Predominately yt. The traffic is on a two lane road and people have events planned with family will be exposed to something that will grow out of control. Fayetteville is NOT in Atlanta. Fayetteville is its own city and is way outside of the Atlanta City limits! Atlanta has got NOTHING to do with this. Here's the problem, the City of Fayetteville is where 50% of the television and movie studios in Georgia (Pinewood Studios) are located. The back road leaving the old national side crosses you into Fayette County. Basically he is on a border line if you look at the map. The majority of the residents are AA in that area and they don't want street nonsense or people parking up and down the road. When black ppl had innocent gathering at the parks in Decatur hood dudes would show up and ruin it with the half dressed hood rats, literally complete hood people. Thus a lot of events at parks etc., where families gathered to grill out in Decatur would get marked as possible crime epicenters.
