I always played this format with a buddy of mine.. 18 holes and together under par. Kept us more focused through out the round. We were able to achieve it couple of times and one time I holed out from the fw for eagle on the last to get us to -1 and my buddy had to make a sick up-and-down from a downhill plugged lie in a greenside bunker. First the enjoyment of holing out for eagle to seeing him making a sick up-and-down to keep the -1 was so much joy! One of my dearest golfmemories!

Funny how many lip outs and lingering on the edge one has, but it just means you're better, well not missing from 3ft, but you know what I mean. For advice I say see the shot be the shot. You have a vast trove of golf shots in your subconscious just let it go, don't try to control it. Let it control you. Fun idea. I hope it all works out. Seb, It is because you are leaving the face open with your irons. Hybrids tend to the left which is why it was straighter, like 1/4* open with your irons, maybe ball position.

It’s mad when you realize that the difference between their scores is an extra par 3 and par 4 shot even. Because that thought just came up even those it didn’t seem that different initially.
