Raptor is built so stout from factory a turbo upgrade needs no internal engine help. Seen them around 90-100 whp.

Agreed. It was built to be durable, reliable and long lasting. Forged crank, con-rod, and piston from factory. Decent oil capacity. Strong transmission. Really wish Yamaha would configure it for some kind of enduro dirtbike, something that could be road legal and do all the "ADV" stuff. The T7 Tenere is supposedly coming but that's the twin cylinder from the FZ-07 and won't be as light as a 686cc Raptor thumper.

I just sold my 08 raptor with barker dual exhaust, intake, and fuel programmer and bought a RZR XP1000. Its power to weight, 50ish HP in my raptor and it only weighed 400lbs. I raced my brother on his 08 crf450r and he beat me but I had him off the line till about 3rd gear when he passed me. I can tell the RZR doesn't take off like the raptor but they're both fun machines. Those raptors have surprising torque and are a ball to ride. Mine topped out at 70mph according to the gps.

Hey Bryce, that's me. I do intend to turbo it, but it won't be until next summer. Working on some other things at the moment and the turbo isn't going to make it in the budget this year. I'm confident that it will make it an awesome machine, but gotta say I really like those X3's too!
