I love how clueless Summer is in that situation, she could've used the first wish to, I don't know, make the noose disappear or wish to save him by snapping her fingers, but she goes for lighter table and knowing CPR. No shade on her, though, it was a legit panic situation and she was thinking of solutions to her immediate problems, not the ultimate goal. Lucky for her the paw also takes her wishes as she _meant_ them, not as she _vocalized_ them: "I wish this desk was lighter (enough that I could easily move it but not so much that, say, it's light as air and is no longer sturdy to stand on)" and "I wish I knew CPR (and was able to immediately perform it well enough to save and stabilize this dying person without help from an ambulance crew)."

I'm autistic and I've been called retarded SO many times growing up. Honestly, there's a difference between using the actual definition in the correct context than using the word to, as Rick said, "disparage the differently abled". Different contexts in different situations. Getting upset when someone using the word correctly rather than an insult should be discouraged imo, that only increases the stigmatization of the language we use. Again, this is imo as someone who's been on the receiving end many times growing up.

As one myself, that word has no more power over me than “dumbass,” and I suspect the same is the case for many similar people out there. In fact, coincidentally, something like “you’re slow” (at 6:00) is just as hurtful or more so than someone absentmindedly throwing out “the R word.”
