I have many musical gifted artists that I enjoy listening to, but your ongoing legacy, music and personal charisma continue to awe- strike me as something beyond natural ability. After a lifetime of being a working player (retired, now), like the young fan seeking RW's autograph, this is "new to me." From stumbling on the charity performance with Yusuf / Cat Stevens - where they played "Morning Has Broken" together for the first time since it was recorded, 50 yrs ago - I have been immersing myself in all things Rick Wakeman. Not only the best keyboardist in the world - but a brilliant composer and lyricist, hugely funny - and not puffed up or snobbish. A thoroughly endearing man. I'm actually glad I was never into Prog-Rock when it was a "thing" - as my own music was world's away from that genre. How nice that, at the age of 71 (RW & I were both born in '49) - I have found something "new" - new to me, that is. And how lovely that it's this amazing !!! PS - You can call it Prog-Rock all you like - but I know classical/symphonic music - and opera - when I hear it. It would seem that RW is ALSO a brilliant communicator and nicely subtle educator. Not to mention that with this astonishing lifework to listen to - I'm finding it a complete Joy that is taking many of the sharp edges off this time of COVID. Thank you, Rick Wakeman, for all of it.

Wanda, I am only 3 years younger than Rick (and you) but I have followed Rick since 1969 when I was first introduced to his music (Strawbs.) I can still listen to the entire Fragile LP and take myself back to college (studying with headphones on) or sitting in the venue where I saw him live (from what I can recall.) I have made it through all of the capes, lights, frenetic playing on 2 (or more) keyboards at once and can still listen over and over. I have seen him go from bands to solo performances, to just piano compositions and he has kept the same composure, and for the most part has not lost anything either in playing or remembrance of the songs. His newest Red Planet is some of the best I have heard in a long time. To me he just plays music - I don't think there is a label beside just being one of the greatest keyboard player of all times. I cannot even keep up with all of his LPs. His return to religious and Christmas Songs are a regular play in my car and at our church. Enjoy finding more and more of Rick - you will not be disappointed.
