I saw Les play in Modesto, CA at a bar (I believe the owner was a friend of Les's) about 1982 or 1983. Maybe he was still with Cher or just after that.

Really fun to see that Les is still with us! But Rick, it would be nice if you could get a way better mic setup for these. Talk to some bloggers....

So great to see you both! Two of the artists that my band covered back in '77 - '86. Two great great great players that have a ton to offer to young musicians.

City Magic was my favorite song to sing when a very tight band of Citadel cadets (South Carolina) hired me for a prom at Ashley Hall (ultimate girls' school) in Charleston 1977. (That tight band now plays in Greenville-Spartanburg, SC as "True Blues" with Bill Pappas / “The Fillmore Brothers” - push is the Cash Brothers = Joe & Pete) We played a lot of southern and western rock ... Les Dudek, right? If you ever heard of him? influence... more influence > Wet Willie - first band in the 70s: white boys playing funk! was our second best song. Thx, Rick D. >>>>Awesome! (yes, my high school band played your song - found through the Winter Bros.)

Rick, I landed in Orlando, got in my rental car maybe 20 years ago or so. Found the local rock station on the FM dial and They mentioned you were playing there that night. I was headed down between Tampa and Fort Myers that night. I still kick myself for not checking out the show. But glad I found your channel on here anyway. Interesting interview with you and Les. I subscribed now👍

Black Rose was an interesting band, sucks that like some actors Cher got type cast as a type of singer, critics attacked her she said "like how dare she sing sing rock" I'm not sure if this clip is the actual outing of the band, but I think so, they were on Merv Griffin and he said the band was hot and you'll see why, there was no promotion that it was Cher's band and she wanted it that way, they come on and start playing and watch her back is to the camera and her hair is cut, then as the 1st verse comes up she spins around and listen to the audience, very clever effect, and now the cat was out of the bag. The album had great writers and players, not just Dudek, Paich, Porcaro, Foster, etc the hit makers of the day. so check out this clip of Black Rose-- kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJPXnoCMlLR0hJI

I remember being at a Doobie Brothers show in San Diego and Les was opening for them and while he was doing his set Cher walked out on stage , I think it was the time she divorced Sonny and was dating all these different rock stars but when she came out and started to sing with him the crowed booed her so bad he had to rush her off the stage , she was a different generation and totally pop music and she was clearly not wanted there , I never laughed so hard
