Eric Mays advocated for the people of Flint City with conviction and passion, he was unapologetic in his approach and was never afraid to speak his mind. He rubbed some local elected officials the wrong way for calling out the BS but they can’t deny that he truly cared about his community. Transparency and accountability is everything in local government, I hope his legacy inspires folks to continue advocacy work for the people in their communities. I wish we had an Eric Mays in the City of Chicago, Lord knows we need one.

Thank you Rickey for this interview. I'm from Flint born and raised, but my dad is from Birmingham via Edgewater (Moore and Anderson families). Mr. Mays took the torch from my grandfather Max Brandon and made our situation in Flint nationwide. He is a true O.G.!! Love him too death!!! Thank you again Mr. Smiley and God bless Mr. Mays

This is the town where my Grammie worked as a Librarian in the 30s and met my Chemist Grandpa, and where my Dad was born. Thank you, Mister Mays...What a wonderful man.
