I only know this bc I had to take cb radio course as a traveling kid. The 10 in codes originates from older radio needing a quick one syllable word and 10 became the go to, easy to understand word to say before a set of coded numbers on walkie talkies and cb radios.

My profession is Non-Destructive Testing. One of the methods for testing welds is Liquid Penetrant testing. I learned the term emulsifier when I was in school for NDT in 2012 because one of the methods of Penetrant testing is using an emulsifier to remove the red dye penetrate from the weld or a metal casting.

As a child I was fascinated by ingredient lists, that’s how I learned about emulsifiers in margarine. So yes, I’ve used the word sporadically when it fits. Like when chocolate is stored improperly and has that white film of cocoa butter, since it doesn’t emulsify properly.
