Hilarious, and truthful. Every damned word. This is a classic example, of why Rick is more than "just" a singer. He's a guy who takes an honest, unafraid look at the world around him... with all it's triumphs, imperfections, magnificence and screwed up situations... and calls it what it is, and sets THAT, to music. THAT is a rare gift, and Rick makes it look easy. I honestly believe this is one of the best RS songs ever. Gives us some insight, into how Rick looks at life around him...and us. I'm honestly surprised...pleasantly, that after all his many years in Hollywood, and as a rock star, Rick still has both feet firmly on the ground. As a side note, I always get a kick out of when Rick plays "unplugged" on an accoustic guitar. Back when I was in High School, I had friends of mine, that played in your "normal" High School garage bands. Back then, MTV and it's attendant rock videos were "the thing".... MTV was still in it's infancy. Needless to say, there were a lot of RS videos...and nearly all of them (at that time) showed Rick holding & playing a guitar. Had I not watched Rick's vids as a teen, I never would have found out about Gretsch guitars... (story for another day) My friends would make fun of the videos, alluding to the fact that Rick was a singer, but they didn't think he was actually playing... They thought he was "finger sync-ing" (Air guitar baby!!) with a "ghost player" who made it look like he was playing. I've seen Rick play accoustic, and exceptionally well. Now, I can point this video out, as a good example to guys that I still know, from "back when..." They know who they are.
