Record in GB. have for many years had an option of a 16 inch rest with 2 posts. This means that with long spindle work as you get further away from a single centre post where it could swivel and engage the wood. A twin post system eliminates this danger but requires that you buy or make a second banjo.

How, Ron. Thanks for the info. I have seen a double post tool rest somewhere, but never really considered it because of the expense, and because I rarely turn any long spindles. I bet it works great!

Thanks Rick. I made one and it came out pretty well. I did weld mine, because it was handy.

+Lethr477 Welding would be great! Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of welding, and no equipment. Did you use a MIG welder or oxy-acetalyne?
