I heard it for the 1st time yesterday during George Floyd's memorial in Raeford, NC. This is awesome and so appropriate! The only thing that was missing? Notable ones are Philip bailey from earth wind and fire, Russell thompkins Jr. From stylistics, Victor Trent Cook of 3 Mo Tenors among other contemporary artists. It's the same as the classical counterparts except that the gospel style and the timbre and other factors can affect the resonance of notes etc but they are the same. Look up those names. Look up were you there by victor cook. Let me know.

God works on a personal level with Rocky Dillard and everyone attached ( choir , band, and family ). No one seen this pandemic coming let alone how bad it would get. From city to city from state to state , the entire country has felt every punch the world has taken. Peace is exactly what we need in this time of uncertainty. With where the world is right now, I find myself going home more and more (the inner home). And certain songs still bring a peace, safe and calm over me.. Grew up Catholic and as a very young child, after the Our Father prayer, I learned this song. My fave part of Mass was always the moment of exchanging peace and hearing (and singing) this song. “Peace that surpasses all understanding” I love this song and the soloist has an amazing voice. As a drummer I gotta say how much I love listening to Brent Easton (Beaston) on drums. A good musician knows when to step back and make sure that the whole song music and lyrics are heard not just them and he did that. He enhanced the song he didn’t dominate it. ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
