People don't realise how dedicated Hatton was....took an 11 week training camp for this fight, never took anyone lightly...true pro.

Man, thank you very much for this upload. This one of his most dominant performances and one of my favorite fights of his to watch. Too bad he didn`t move up the ranks quicker though. I would have loved to see a bout between him and Cotto at 140 and I would have liked his chances.

This is brilliant! one of the best in his day, ricky was a lad.. who had great charisma but when it came to fighting no one took it more serious than rick. What a champ!

He was p4p... There's a reason why mayweather never left nevada commission once he made a name, and there's a reason why he never boxed outside the us,AND there's a reason why American boxing is dead.

Hatton went as far as the number 2 P4P. Haha. What are you talking about.

Some of these opponents Warren got for Hatton were quite frankly diabolical.

Hatton - overrated and over hyped by the British public and press. Never mind him not being a great P4P fighter - it's pretty difficult to argue that he was ever even the best Junior Welterweight in the world at any point in time.

you`re either a troll or a deluded yank. he smashed everyone he could apart from the two best fighters alive... an tszyu was ranked number 2 p4p when ricky walked through him lol

If your definition of troll is somebody that thinks that Hatton was shite then yes I guess I am, one. A yank I ain't. And while I normally hate the yanks as much as the next guy, you have to give them credit for seeing Hatton for what he was. They knew that a Mickey Mouse WBU title in a grave yard of a weight division didn't mean squat. Hatton won his WBU 'title' in 2001. At the end of that year Ring Magazine ranked him as the No. 10 contender in the Super Lightweight division. In 2002 he didn't even make it into the top 10 (and this is while he's the WBU world champ) Now surely at this point any half decent fighter is going to want a shot at the real world titles held by Kosta Tszyu since 1999. Not Hatton though. He needs to wait a few more years so he can face an over the hill Tszyu in his mid 30's. In 2003 he's ranked as the No.5 contender In 2004 he drops a place to No. 6 (despite having held the WBU title for nearly 4 years and defending it 12 times) That tells you all you need to know about the quality of the opposition he was facing. In 2005 he beats the aged Tszyu and finally gets a decent title. This should be Hatton moving up in class to fight the best guys in the division. The No. 1 & 2 contenders were Cotto and Mayweather Jr. The problem was of course that they were both a class above Hatton. Accordingly Ricky elected not to fight them. This was a wise decision as we all know what happened to him when he eventually faced Floyd for the 147 lb title. It comes down to this ... between 2001 - 2007 when Hatton was fighting at championship level there were at least 10 guys (and probably more) fighting between 140 - 147 lbs who were all clearly better than Hatton. He fought 2 of them and got KO'd by both of them.

He didn't smash Mark Ramsey. He may of won but was far from smashing him.
