That was really kind of Ricky to acknowledge/address Mike King directly at the end there. He didn't have to do that, but he respected the man who is fan of yours and it's deeply appreciated. My uncle has been a long, long time fan of the Rock N Roll Express, I showed him this and your words made his day, thank you brother. Cheers Ricky... Keep Rocking eh :)

@stlane3800 we were all young once, and there's no such thing as a perfect person...yet we all have the capacity for change. I don't know much more than how he conducted himself during this interview and it is to what I refer. Giving the shout out to the person who wrote the question was a nice thing to do that probably made him feel special. Ricky didn't have to do that.

I met Ricky, Bobby Eaton (one of my all time favorites) and Greg Valentine at a show in Mill Creek WV about 14 years ago. Those three men were as down to earth as anyone I've ever met. Really enjoyed talking to all of them. Bobby was so quiet, I was just struck by that. Here this man is that has traveled the world probably 5 times over yet, he was meek as could be. I appreciated and admired that from him. Greg was great. He asked if he could use my cell to call home and check on his family because he didn't have service in that area. Well, of course! lol The man had given me hours and hours of entertainment as a kid. Damn right you can use my phone to check in with your people! Then Ricky. I still have the picture of Ricky, my wife, my son and of myself. Ricky didn't seem like he was in any hurry to push the line through, take the pictures and then get the hell out of there. He actually took the time to associate with his fans, talk with them, laugh, take pictures and just bullshit with them. If you ever get a chance to go see Ricky, do it. Get that pic, buy some merch and talk with him. He's one of wrestling's real treasures!

RnR is my all time favorite. Many of us wouldnt know what wrestling is if it werent for RnR Express. Rick is what all you young kids call Old School. Some things is more important than fame and money. Who you love, how you love, and how you treat your family and friends is more important to Rick than any belt, or any check. Thats the kinda guys that made wrestling what it was in my day. And its a lack of those things that makes wrestling what it is today. Class isnt something you can buy or something you can teach, and you cant even define it. Class is just something that you know what it is, when you see it. RnR is all class 1st class all the way baby!

Before the internet and insider info we had the insight to know that Magnum was being groom to be the next NWA champion. Even with other territories and organizations we were calling situations, titles, stars, and all things wrestling like 90 percent of the times! We even prediicted Hulk Hogan leaving after his loss or final (screw job by Verne) to Nick Bockwinkle. We knew that he was going to be super huge! Man did Verne Gagne dropped the ball on that one!

I wish fans today could have been around in the 80s with the territories. I was blessed to be in DFW with the Von Erichs and Freebirds, watching TBS to see R&R and Midnight express and even ESPN carried the old AWA stuff. As a kid in HS, it was so awesome seeing 3 different territories of wrestling and seeing your favorites migrating from one group to another. No one today can comprehend how over the R&R was in their areas and the level of Von Erich crazy in DFW was insane. The Von Erichs were bigger than the Cowboys it seemed.

Hearing what went/goes on behind the scenes, now with the web is soooo fascinating & a treat. The Rock & Roll, The Rockers, The Midnight, The 4 Horsemen, etc, all gave us great memories. Saw Morton get booed and heckled at a show in Glensboro KY. It was a outside show, a really big crowd. Until it was time for him to get in the ring, all he did was sit in his little Benz, every once in a while would walk around talking on his cellphone. In my opinion he was ignoring the very same people who paid for their tickets. He came to the ring expecting a hero's welcome, whilst he got what he deserved. 🤣The look on his face reacting to such was worth the price of admission several times over.🤣
