Corny doesn't just talk smack about people; he praises those who are good and he calls it when it is done right. the problem with the Internet is that any criticism of something you like is perceived as criticism of you and a personal attack. So, they don't listen to what he actually says, but just give a knee jerk emotional response and attack him and try to silence him. Creative endeavors need that criticism to make things better. Writers need editors to make their stories better and fix the weak spots. TV shows need to know when the episodes or characters aren't coming across well and tweak them; or, when they are, to double down on that. Corny gives CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, but the performers and their little cults don't want to listen; so, Cornette amuses himself by constantly poking them to get them to react and they go for it every time. Pro wrestling used to be about evoking an emotional response from the crowd, not a bunch of Pavlovian responses to chops or pointless flips, while no comprehensible story is told. Corny points out that the Emperor has no clothes, while the fans are busy complimenting them on their attire. They refuse to see past their fantasy.

This is true, but Ricky may have a point about Cornette cutting wrestling interviews on people who are currently active on TV. Sure, he's been friends with Fulton for 40 years, but also Fulton isn't wrestling on AEW or WWE television.
