When I researched the 50's for my YT playlists, I was surprised how many hits Ricky Nelson had, that I heard before. He was huge back then. He also was the first artist, who had a No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, when they where new. My favorite is "It's late", a fun song with a similar theme as the famous "Wake up Little Susie" by the Everly Brothers. Nelson died in a plane crash in 1985, a very common thing for musicians, unfortunately. We've lost so many great people to plane crashes.

My Mom loved Ricky Nelson! That's how I know his music. Also, I've seen the old show "The Nelsons" on television lol. He was quite handsome..even by today's standards! Cool reaction..💗

Great song! So many fantastic classics all the way from the 30´s/40´s. The more I listen to older music the more I like it. My playlists goes from Tool and Rammstein to Aurora, Vangelis and so many of these older songs. A good mix :) I do remember my parents listening to this, but it is especially the Fallout games that really got me into the old stuff, with their in game, in story- radio channels.

was in Jr High when this song came out, had a crush on girl named Mary Lou - saddly she passed away fro leukemia summer before high school, think of her every time I hear this. on another note, the lead guitar over Ricks left shoulder is guitar legend James Burton. As for your "Mary Lou", having seen your reactions to a set of twins, have to wonder about M & L, just a thought

Why is it so important to "Colorize" a black and white film to make it "acceptable" to younger audiences? the talent is there without colorizing it. It was from the black and white era of TV and should be accepted that way as it is...it is tampering with visual history the way it was presented. It was not "inferior" at the time.
