Reiza licensed the Madness game engine. That includes graphics AND physics. One of the reasons they went with the Madness engine was the physics because they are really goo once properly dialed in. They use the Seta tire model which is industry leading with their parameters and the only thing they completely rebuilt was the FFB engine. So you weren't wrong. Where you were wrong was in talking about the PCARS2 tracks. Some of the tracks were obtained with the licensing of the engine (this one) but most tracks of PCARS2 won't be coming here. To be perfectly honest, they would likely fail the quality threshold Reiza sets for their tracks. I mean, look at Spa or Imola in PCARS 2. Compare to modern Imola in AMS 2. AMS 2 Imola is a lot better. In every way. But that is a minor thing. Glad you are enjoying the game. Have you fine tuned your FFB yet? I discovered that to feel brake lockup and front tyre scrubbing you need to add 20 or 25 to the FX in FFB. Another helpful tip ;) Finally, it pronounced Reiza. Not Reiza or Reiza but Reiza. Hope that helps.

One thing that drives me crazy about AMS2 is that literally every advertising sign or banner says either “Reiza” or “Automobilista 2”. It really breaks the immersion and it’s such a small thing to change. Hell, cut some deals with some advertisers and maybe they could even make some money from it, or at least come up with some fake ads or just don’t have any ad signage.

They would have to pay for brand licensing. Maybe when the game becomes a hit they will get a few advertisers, but I agree its annoying

Álvaro Chaves they could make up fake brands (“Copa Cola”) or probably find some brand that would either allow them to use their logo (hey it’s free advertising) or even find some who would pay. Anything would be better than what’s there now...

@@bensoniusprimeI agree, but they are a small independent studio with a small team, contacting companies and making fake brands takes time. I prefer they focus on everything that must be fixed and in securing more car and track licenses before moving to something like that.

Álvaro Chaves I would bet there is a pack of licensed fake advertising that you could get from stock images or turbo squid or some similar site for like $5. It’s such an easy fix and would make enough of a difference that there’s really no excuse for it being the way it is.

The worst part about this video is that you felt the need to apologize. Your videos are always excellent and anyone who has watched your content before would know you are a fan of Pcars 2 and you were certainly not bashing AMS2. Pcars2 is perceived as simcade and by association AMS2 is going to have to fight that same battle. I personally think Pcars2 is absolutely a sim (that perhaps just got a couple things/calculations wrong) and I believe Reiza think the same way and I am confident they can make AMS2 what Pcars2 was trying to accomplish.

Reiza have indeed licensed the whole Madness engine not just the graphics. They have praised the physics engine, the SETA tyre model and Livetrack 3.

PC2 is a great sim in ways, and it is an absolutely atrocious sim in others. The tracks were great in PC2.

I have this game I like it. Fun to drive especially the v8 supercars. I have 2 issues though. 1 there isn't a replay I understand this is early release and it may come in an update later. I love re watching my races in games. Number 2 is my game keeps crashing. I will verify game files when I get home and hope that fixes it. I did do the vr last night and that was fantastic out of the box. I do miss replays though.

They actually do have replays but the UI design makes it not obvious - it’s a little square icon of a camera on the dialog box after a race. Unfortunately, they still use the crappy PC2 replay interface where the only way to skip ahead or back is to fast forward/rewind at like 5x the way you used to do on a VHS tape. As a bonus, you get to listen to the race sounds play at high speed so the engines sound like a swarm of mosquitoes. 😒

About your tyre comment, this cars look to be based on the F1 2012 season, back then they only had 2 tyre compounds, PRIME, OPTION, i remember vaguely that option was the softish tyre and prime was the hard tyre.

I will form my final opinion on ams2 once it hits 1.0 or at least 1.1 or something like that, currently its early access with quite some bugs, pretty rough menu's etc. etc. As far as i can see ams2 have no chance de-crowning acc in gt3 racing but i think ams2 is not aimed at that. idk we will see for now im monitoring its updates and improvements and whoever wants complete package for simulator, ac1 with all dlcs and modding community is the best package for the money right now and probably in upcoming future.

Have you tried the f3 cars? If not I really recommend it. Was my favourite in ams1 and after playing ams2 (sadly on a controller since my wheel is in uni still) it's still one of my favourites. It's slower than this but a lot easier to control on power, so more fun for me. Edit: also have you considered making a discord for youtube subscribers.

RickyBrosh Racing have 2 hours total on it now and it is a lot better than PC2 even at this stage. The only thing is in the rain I didn’t really feel much difference in grip across the track? Maybe it’s just me but it was feeling like the dry lines worked just the same in the wet.

This is the taylorism-experiment effect... I spent a few hours with it. It is so OBVIOUSLY based on PC2 Engine, that is not deniable. They made some improvements, for me it is not major - and probably never will! Honestly, I am a bit shocked of all these hyped reviews and comments. Come on, really? Particulary funny is when people with low-end wheelbases like G29 applaude the quality of the Sim regarding FFB/physics (when that base not even closely provides the dynamic range you usually get out of any given Sim engine). And then there is all the rest: Lack of content, being it cars and the vast majority of tracks, most people could not care less. But hey, it is okay - in the end, all that counts is having fun playing it.

Didn´t see the previous video but im betting you said something that this game is similar to PC2 and SJW fanbois went on rampage...how far am i?the game is the same bases but PC2 they just didn´t put much into the date of the cars, they just made a bunch of cars in one swoop and didn´t improve, update, didn´t do shit afterwards basically, PC2 would be a good sim if they actually did some major workout after the launch, but they just didn´t give 2 fucks so ye, ended up being a sim-cade...This is the difference of what you can do with the same game and actually work car by car and polish them.

Reiza licensed the PC2 game engine. Part of the licensing agreement included the use of several tracks from PC2. The first to appear in AMS2 is Monaco. Who knows - maybe some of Reizas tracks will appear in PC3?

This game is obviously nothing like project cars 2 in gameplay I mean look at the way you have the break on the game I mean big difference much more realistic yes the graphics are incredibly alike as they should be but the gameplay itself is just better and hell this is before sny updates to fix issues before it's been actually fully released the physics to me are way better then pc2 but no heat form me or hate I like pc2 but it's not as good as this
