Ricky, excellent way to teach with your examples like "house of blues", The Only change I would suggest is that you start the intro by actually playing the blues chords in performer mode fully before getting into teaching mode. Just a suggestion and giving the PDF is excellent take-away also. Thanks for sharing...

@rickysguitar2 жыл бұрын
Let me know what happens please! Sounds fun!
@mintonmiller2 жыл бұрын
it is something you can try as well. Gm7flat5 is G Bb Db F. I would tune like this from 4 to one respectively. Db G Bb F For the 6 and 5 strings, you could tune the E up to G or tune it down to Db. The A could be tuned down to G or up to Bb. Yet another variation, you could tune from six to one like G Bb Db G Bb F. Now you can play these chords with a slide or just one finger.

Great concept for teaching. I think I'm going to borrow it. BTW the HOB is a MINOR pentatonic shape. (C natural)
@rickysguitar2 жыл бұрын
Borrow away! I’d argue the HOB is just a shape and where you place it determines the tonality. You’re referring to the Albert King position found in the minor pentatonic. However, it’s just a shape. The intervals change depending on the chord underneath. Here’s why I say it’s just a shape. Humour me on this. If you played an e minor using xx998x over a C Major chord x35553 the shape is still an a minor shape. It’s function has become to extend the C Major into C Major 9 harmony. We don’t have to invent another shape. Shapes are movable entities and predictable patterns we can rely on to speak our hearts through the guitar.
