@@ToweTiihFYI Ricky gervais had a hit in the 1980s which I think made the top ten for a week or something daft. One hit wonder. And when talking about David Brent the character in an interview he said he didn’t want the songs to be musically bad but instead wants the audience to be surprised by them actually being really good to listen to but at the same time really shocked at how the lyrics and the point of the song are so misguided due to Brent being a tit. A talented, and lovable tit.

'I get a costa, hard shoulder? No, coffe holder' Genius and musically excellent ;)
@ots16343 жыл бұрын
Not the lyrics, he doesn't say 'no' because, not only does it not fit syllabically, but it also means something completely different. He isn't refuting the existence of the hard shoulder, he isn't saying "no, not hard shoulder, coffee holder instead" he is explaining that the coffee holder and the hard shoulder go hand in hand. The "hard shoulder?.... coffee holder" is an imagined interaction between the audience and Brent, he is explaining how he handles hard shoulders, should anyone be concerned about his hot coffee- his head shake is supposed to communicate "No it is not going to spill, I have a coffee holder". Please try harder not to mess up the lyrics that you are praising, and ruining them when doing so. I'm only half being serious and am making a ceremony of being a pendant, although the point remains.
@wintermute83152 жыл бұрын
@@ots1634 Are you actually ignoring Gervais' gesture during that line? He doesn't literally say 'no' out loud - he gestures it. I think you struggle with nuance, lad.
@ots16342 жыл бұрын
@@wintermute8315 no, lad. He gestures "don't worry", not "no" because he is not refuting a hard shoulder and suggesting a coffee holder instead, like the initial comment implies. I think you struggle with logic.
