My laptop has internet via ethernet and it works. Made my laptop a mobile hotspot and connected my mobile to the laptop hotspot via Wi-Fi. On mobile it says Wi-Fi is connected but with no internet. @@RRD97 my laptop could give my phone a wifi through hotspot, and I was wondering where the internet from laptop comes from, because I don't own a wifi router nor I pay for the internet. I use my neighbor's, (she gave me the access, dw) But now I know how it works, the laptop hotspot is just wifi extender, so my laptop just shares the neighbor's wifi to my phone, so I can be connected to neighbor's wifi from longer distance.

Well sometimes you need a secondary connection, primary may not work on some devices. 2.You have better control over the WiFi and who Accesses it and you can change the password on the fly and see who is connected at any given time and more.
