I was able to watch Rico J. twice in during his heyday sometime in the 1980's once in Folk Arts Theater and in Lucena City - hinahagis niya yung blazer niya pag feel niya na very appreciative ang audience - kilala ko yung nakasambot nung blazer niya malamang nung nalaman niya wala si Rico J. nalungkot yun - Total entertainer talaga siya! I remember when I was young...Rico Puno and my uncle had a duet. The moment I saw Rico Puno,I was stunned because he sings si great! He is not only a great singer, but s very humble and witty person. Great raw performance from 2 of my Mom's fave artists-Martin Nievera (also my fave) and Mr. Rico J. Puno! But tonight, I am here to give my final respect to the total entertainer, Mr. Rico J. I now remember the times my Mom would drag me with her to watch Rico's 0FF THE AIR (in series!) just to see Rico J perform at the Folk Arts Theatre. The young Rico' 'baby' can really sing and was very simpatico. What amazed me was when Folk Arts had a power problem and Rico still sang to the audience's content. The audience went wild with admiration! As a child back then, I begin to understand the many reasons why my Mom loves him as a performer, ika nga, the show must go on. That was forever etched in my memory and will always be my shared memory with my Mom with her Rico baby, her Corics-that guy whose voice my Mom will always refer to as pure and practically the same whether on her 45, LP and on live. Rest in peace, Mr. Rico J!

I can’t help, until now I cry. Read that he had a concert in Solaire, he cane in wheel and oxygen, katatapos lang ng pag lahat ng Pacemaker sa heart niya... this according to Claire. They were all crying but Rico said the show must go on . The audience that night all crying and gave him standing ovation😭😭😭😭. Thank you RIP.
