So after this, he calls those undercover cops who came to him earlier for drugs (he suspected they were cops, so he just gave them his number), and arranges a drug deal/meeting with the cops. Instead of him going, he sends rico to go because he is gonna set him up. And cuz the cops have evidence to arrest rico (he got a case full of drugs), they would try to arrest him- thats why there was a shootout cuz rico aint trynna go to jail

He holds his shirt up for a bit to let the gun show). At 2:34 Notice how Rico's energy changes after he does that. His arms go into a fold and he's rocking back and forth with a cocky look as if to let Ace know " Nigga what YOU gonna do ? " Nevertheless, 4:02 peep the little Pocket Rocket Ace had on him. He could've popped Rico right there. Especially when he asked him about the cut on his face and he lied. You can hear the anger in Ace's voice 1:20. Ace was a good dude. I think the subtle nuances of each of the roles was amazing. A lot of ppl miss Rico’s arc - his aggression, greed, abrasiveness, is everything that the “streets” bleed, except it’s a fable. Just like the lie Ace told to get him jammed. The hypocrisy to embody the image but not understand the code. It’s why the brotherhood with Mitch was so rooted. Mitch not only respected Ace like a brother, he understood the code, and understood Ace’s mastering of the code is what set him apart. And better yet, Mitch understanding his own flaws as equal parts Ace and Rico. Smart enough to pick his spots, but brash enough to embody the image. Yet, he gets caught trying to toe the line! Superb writing!!

“I ain’t snitching on nobody from Harlem. I’ll give you a couple cats from DC but I ain’t snitching on nobody from Harlem.” Is that the part Dame implied or other people think got Cam shot in DC when leaving Howard Homecoming? Even though it was a movie and he was just acting, some cats didn’t like it? Apparently….
@dmensah1
@dmensah1 Жыл бұрын
I think that’s just Dame talking out of his ass for the podcasts. Cam got shot at because he was getting robbed/carjacked after the club and didn’t want to comply. You don’t show up in DC in a Lamborghini with a ton of jewelry on. It’s the polar opposite of a place like South Beach, Miami. We have a major carjacking problem here.

@@dmensah1 Yeah, when Dame said Cam got shot because of the movie, i was like thats bullshit, ain't no way them dudes shot him over a movie, even though the movie is based on real events and it's a serious and touchy topic

It funny that Alpo did come back home ... and he was definitely not the king. Just imagine getting a second chance in life after 25 years and going back to the same place where you have living enemies. Getting shot and murdered was just karma coming back for him.

I remember when this movie was released. I was a kid. A classmate was excited to see it. We were in fifth grade. I think about it now. I find it sad that he looked up to these characters. He related to them. Thought that this is how adults should act. He is no longer alive. These movies do more harm than good. Stop making and watching them.
