Hi, I’m trying to resurrect an old 201n. Did you ever link to a dump of the new chip? I’m not on Facebook and can’t find it. Thanks a lot for the effort and sorry for digging up such an old thread✌️

Yep I did, follow the link in the description. you can download the new cade from the EEBLOG form.

I would need to play with the printer myself to figure it out. I do not have a need to work on such a project at this time.

Just made reset to my Ricoh printer using PonyProg(Windows version) and FTDI (usb to serial) adapter. Soldered 4 wires to chip pads: Vcc -> Vcc Gnd -> Gnd SDA -> DTR and CTS SCL -> RTS Here's eeprom dump: drive_dot_google_dot_com/file/d/0B4yCwRQLoGTdaU4tY3FRY3dvc3c/view?usp=sharing Make sure you checked invert reset, invert SCKL, invert DIN, invert DOUT boxes in PonyProg config. Happy hacking

Martynas Mirauskas Nice, that's what I like to see, additions to the information I gave here. Hopefully the video was of good use. The chips used are 24C02, the remakes used lasers to burn off the part numbers but failed to do it properly. Under the right light you can still make out the part number.

***** Original chip was marked as BR24L02 2Kbit eeprom. Now I'm making Arduino powered jig to reset these chips without PC or soldering. I'm making this just for fun, but it could make some profit on ebay. I will share my project after i finish it. its still me just different youtube account

arejaz Go for it, might have to try that myself. Chips are still floating around somewhere.

***** Hi, I haven't done anything since last comment to this project. It was breadboard-ed so I have no working circuit. I will try recreate circuit and report back in a couple days with more details. I remember using my own FTDI (ft232rl) breakout board. You can find programmer schematic in ponyprog website (i2c eeprom circuit + si prog interface) I did not used any transistors or resistors. Also you have to connect all address pins to ground (on eeprom chip pin 1, 2 and 3), like in i2c eeprom circuit shown in ponyprog website.

+Martynas Mirauskas Dude, thank you so much. I tried to manually edit the data in my toner cart and bricked it, but I was able to write your dump to it using the FTDI breakout like you said, works good now!
