Great video, skipped the sequence in a couple of places but I worked out what was going in. Just bought a bus with a wheelchair ramp and am curious as to how they work. Very informative and well done especially while holding the camera. Thank you for your effort, good job.

Thank you for making these KZbins. I’m a caregiver for my parents and we have 2 Ricon lifts. We use 1 in a van, and 1 on the porch to get dad around having to climb the stairs. Both are used, so I’m trying to figure things on my own. The one in the van has been trouble free, the one on the porch I’m having some trouble with. I think it sat outside awhile, as working the lift seems to help. The switches seem sticky. I need to know is there a sequence to adjust the deploy, down, up, stow, stop switches. I also want to adjust the lift platform to be a little more level, as it gives my parents an uneasy feeling as they start to go up. I think my lifts are 1997 - 1998 era lifts, S series. I’ll keep watching your channel, it’s a valuable learning source. Thank you for your efforts on making this information available.

Alejandro, are you there? What size are the screws you put in the vise for a tool?

Thank you so much for this video I wanted to ask you 2 questions I hope you can reply. 1. Is possible to change just the sealing and not the whole nuts of the cilinder? And in case where I can buy the k series cylinder sealing? 2. I found very hard to put the cilinder back because of the pressure. As a workaround I just loose the oil pimp on the cylinder so all the remaining oil and air in each cylinder was out. Then I was able to put the cilinder back in and in the first 3 run waited the cylinders system o refill it with oil. I haven't done the manual procedure and even understand what is the purpose of that. Have I done something wrong? 3. Can I refill with ATF hydraulic type oil? I am not a professional i am just a parent of a special need child trying to fix this k serie lift buying some sealing. I appreciate your feedback.

I would change all seals just so u don't have 2 do the process twice like doing a waterpump without doing timing parts u can order from ricon or a ricon dealer forgot the type of oil check the manual to see the proper type of fluid

@@aliludovico wow that was a quick reply I appreciate. What do you mean by timing part and waterpump 🤔. The work execution time is pretty much the same whether you replace the cylinder nuts or just the sealing but the price of just the sealing is very cheap compared to the whole set. Unfortunately one of the sealing (the outer one and the most important) that I bought was a bit deeper so could not fit into the cylinder back (so I had to put the old one back again). What is missing in your video is the part when you put the cylinder back... Basically the part where I had more doubt because of the positive pressure (opposite to the suction pressure when you remove the cylinder). I solved by loosing the bolt close to the oil hose on each cylinder. How did you do that part ? Most important after this work, I notice a strange behaviour. Basically if I don't use for a couple of days the lift, when I deploy I hear the usual 'unlock' noise but it doesn't not deploy unless I pull the lift a bit toward me when I press deploy. This problem doesn't happen when I use the lift multiple times during the day. Do you have a suggestion? Can be some air trapped in the oil system? Thanks and sorry to bother.. Ps.. Do you know online dealer for this k series sealing.?

Hello I have a bus with a Ricon lift and only piston works? any ideas?

I caught the pendant wire on the lift accidentally and the wire pulled out of the pendant. I opened it up to reconnect it but the colors of the wires aren't the same as the wiring diagram in the manual shows. Any suggestion ?

Hey , Thanks for your video's! I just purchased a 2007 E450 with a Ricon S5505 and I'm getting 30 volts from the positive cable at the lift but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot beyond that . Any suggestions? Thanks!

it should always only be 12v or up to 14.5v if the car is running that's way to high should never be higher then that power comes strait to the battery

I have a Crow River vangater, I took it to the place who installed it, has a battery drain issue, they didn't even look at it, and when I had them move it to another van, I again reminded them about the battery drain and they obviously blew it off, they wound up going out of business. My van was in an accident where someone ran over the lift and it wasn't fully resting on the ground, I took it to the certified Braun dealer, guess what I found, they guy from the shop that went out of business, insurance would give me a blank check on repairs, dude could have said it needed completely replaced, so many bad switches, along with the frame was cracked in several places, he jerked me around. I tried to get service from the only other company near me, could get nothing done there, Braun only sells parts to their dealers, and they couldn't get anything from the other shop, so I abandoned the repairs, got an appraisal for repairs, no parts to do so since the damn dealer isn't interested in selling parts or repairing anything, just new sales, cashed the check and use the busted junk. I bought a 73 Econoline, a friend gave me a Ricon S series, had some friends set it in, I crawled under the van and wired it all up, works beautifully, would never buy another Braun for as long as I live. I still use my other van and busted up lift, it is very old now, wasn't when I got it tho, but even back then finding a competent tech to repair it was impossible, I have to do everything myself it seems, glad even tho I am in a chair, that I have the ability to work on stuff.
