I was happy to see that reaction to the film. I remember that many didn't like and didn't appreciate that Newt was such a different main character than expected. His main quality is empathy. He's powerful and smart but also kind of weird and introverted. I remember when the movie came out thinking that a lot of people didn't like it because it wasn't what you expect from a main male character. I thought it was brilliant as it shows that someone kind and different can also be charming and save the day.

Newt is my favorite character in the Wizarding World. He isn't a typical main male character and, in fact, is likely autistic. As someone who is on the spectrum myself, it's refreshing to see a main character who I can relate to.

TRUE FACT: Newt Scamander is literally the FIRST magizoologist who wrote about magical beasts to the point that all schools in the wizarding world approved his books to become one of their main subjects which is "Care of Magical Creatures", he was awarded Order of Merlin 2nd Class of his achievement for adding a new knowledge to their education system around the magical world and featuring him to their chocolate frog cards, he's very famous like Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore 😎

I don't know what the many critics of this film were expecting, but I love the Fantastic Beasts stories. Maybe the critics just wanted to live in Potterland forever, but I really appreciate a more adult take on the wizarding world. My only complaint is about the fascistic nature of MACUSA, but I assume things are more lax in other parts of the country.
@more-reasons6655
@more-reasons6655 2 жыл бұрын
It makes sense how the MACUSA act considering they are American and it is the 20s Take for example the only time Britain has had apartheid rules was in the 40s during ww2 when American soldiers were stationed over here. America really hated 'others' quite alot even within the past 100 years

@emobx02 2 жыл бұрын
@@more-reasons6655 I mean British people (and other nations) going to other countries and colonizing is the root of pretty much all apartheid practices in general... I mean, people in Britain had the advantage of seeing a melding of races from afar over time in a way that had never happened in their own country until relatively recently in history. It's a fact that racially homogenous places tend to have fewer, well, racial issues. Of course, Britain is very racially diverse now, but the moral superiority seems misplaced, particularly in the time period you mention (1920s). This isn't me trying to blame all of these things on the British because that wouldn't be fair at all, but it's kind of like going somewhere, making a problem, then acting surprised when that problem continues to exist and acting like they had nothing to do with it that just doesn't seem to make sense to me. It's that mentality of "we watched the depravity from afar and now 100 years later we would never have acted in the same way despite the fact that we had a large hand in creating the very problem we look down on." I guess this was too much to probably get into on a comment about a Fantastic Beasts movie, and I don't mean to be argumentative at all. Also, a significant number of American soldiers in WW2 were first and second-generation Americans, meaning lots of Germans, Italians, etc. This doesn't make up for any racism shown, but it's not as simple as American solider in WW2=super racist. You had an army of multiple nationalities that barely had time to acclimate to a new country being thrown into a war in a continent they had just left. Idk, I just think these issues are much more nuanced than we like to think they are from the privilege we have in 2022 on the internet where it's easy to simplify and disregard many facets of reality that make up a situation.

The problem is they're really messy films. This one is fine, and even half of the new one is pretty great, but none of them captured the soul and magic of the original series, even if they're made with a mature audience in mind. And the pacing is atrocious in all of them. As a former editor, nothing drives me bonkers like a film that doesn't have focus and just jumps around. Newt isn't as interesting as the secondary characters half the time. And the story isn't as tight as the Potter films. If you like them, awesome, I'm glad you do, but the critics were right on these, they're passable at best.

I think a number of people were expecting the movies to be on the same level as the Harry Potter films, which was never going to happen. Very similar situation with the Hobbit movies; the Hobbit films were never going to be as great as the Lord of the Rings films.

After watching the third Fantastic Beasts a few days ago, I can honestly say that this is definetly my favourite. Recently I have seen so many people saying Newt is not protagonist material but damn do I find him charming. I love the cast and I love the relations both between Jacob and Queenie and the relation between Newt and Tina. Those final moments is when they realise they really liked each others company and I think that both Newt and Tina need each other. They are much more energetic and happy when they are together. Also I am glad that they weren't afraid to go a bit dark in some parts of this movie. For me this is what spin-offs should be like. Not every story needs world saving heroes. They had a problem and they tried to solve it and eventhough the obscurial plot is bigger in scale, it doesn't feel too much. Great reaction! Looking forward to the next ones.

I actually think newt is a really good main character it’s just as these movies progress they make it less about him and more about dumbledore and grindelwald when really I prefer the moments where newt is showcasing his unique interactions and ways of handling situations in his unique way as someone who was born with Asperger’s it’s great to see a character with the same disability shining being respected and earning the respect of all these powerful characters, you already know if dumbledore says you’re cool then you’re fucking cool

So without spoiling anything, I do love the main four. I love the creatures, the suitcase world is stunning, visually this was gorgeous, and I loved the twist at the end of him being Grindelwald all along. But JK either cannot remember all the small details from her OG story, or she just doesn't give a fuck about plot holes. The reason Jacob remembers (Newt did actually say it earlier!) is the rain shit only removes BAD memories.....Jacob has mainly GOOD memories of all that happened, so that's why he remembers!
@FizzLeeague
@FizzLeeague Жыл бұрын
Are you sure? I thought he just said that he thinks that a useful application of the creatures powers would be a diluted form that could be used to remove nightmares. Presumably, the unadulterated dose would get rid of far more memories than that. Regardless, even if you were right, this could be a mistake of Newt's. Remember: he is the very first magizoologist, so he is literally writing the book on this subject as he goes.

Unfortunately, as much as I love Newt and the gang, they could have never successfully done the Grindelwald vs Dumbledore take as a side story. It’s one of the biggest parts of history in the Wizarding World that fans have wanted to see for a long time now. I don’t think they could have successfully operated both Newt’s story of searching for Beasts and marrying Tina while also doing the Grindelwald story. If anything, I would have loved if they focused a trilogy on Newt and friends, and a separate Trilogy on Dumbledore and Grindelwald so that both stories were well done. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be because JK Rowling treated these movies like she would a book and crammed far too many storylines into a single one. It’s a prime example of how being a good author doesn’t translate to being a good screenwriter.

Like we know Dumbledore is gonna Dumbledore, but we never see the outside look. Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is the American magic school located in Massachusetts. It was founded in 1627 (637 years after Hogwarts) by an Irish witch Isolt Sayre and her muggle husband James Steward. Isolt Sayre (b. 1603) was a famous Irish pure-blood witch, the only child and daughter of William and Rionach Sayre (Rionach Gaunt is maiden name). When she was just a girl, her parents were murdered in a house fire by her aunt Gormlaith Gaunt, a vicious dark witch and pure-blood supremacist. Gormlaith Gaunt was the owner of Salazar Slythrin's Wand which was passed on to generations of the Gaunt Family eventually ending up with Gormlaith Gaunt (last owner). Gaunt Family are one of the sacred 28 Pure Blood families and are the direct decendants of Salazar Slytherin...they also have ability of Salazar Slythrin of speeking Parseltongue (talk to snakes)...Voldemort comes from Gaunt family on his mother's side (Merope Gaunt).

I really enjoy this movie, it's really entertaining and it's our first look of how adult wizards move around the world and their jobs. I'm actually a potterhead, I read the book and this movie hook me up again to the wizarding world. Grindelwald will be the main villain of this movies. This is in 1930 or so, before WWII and around that time he was the dark wizard to defeat. The people who read the books knows what happened but this movies will show how it happened.

I'm still mad at Warner Brothers for not hiring g Johnny Depp back after finding out he wasn't the bad guy his ex claimed him to be. Best Grinderwald IMO.

I love the first movie because i just love the main character, the beasts themselves, and the story overall but the second movie took away the magic Newt gave in the first one. I'd like to have Newt be the main MAIN focus again and his fantastic beasts tyvm. The series would be solid for me if they do that at least Also, i haven't seen the third movie yet soooo

At the corner of the map, Albus Dumbledore sat his office with somebody named Newt Scamender.. Many says He was a skin changer like Sirius Black.. ( Sirius can be a dog remember) .. And many says The hippogriff at prisoner of azkaban was actually Newt Scamender.. The skin changer stuff :)) Hippogriff is the creature that mixing eagle and horse..

Excellent reaction like allways, maybe you could be interested in giving a look to "Doctor Who Series". This movie is a lot like that series, it could have been easyly called "Doctor Who in the universe of Harry Potter". Newt remembers me a lot to "The Doctor". I think you could recorded a reaction for the episode 3x02 - The Code Shakespeare. There you could learn how is the series ( there is some chapters in all the series that are made to explain the series to a new watcher) and decide if wanna try it from series 1 or leave it If you plan to leave it, delighted yourself with the episode "S03xE10 - Blink" (one of the best episode of thriller science fiction low budget never created) and episode S04 x E10 - Midnight (another incredible thriller science fiction low budget)
