Okay, so am I the only one who kind of thinks this song sounds like the pleading and maybe even the dying words of a soldier or something similar? Just the eerie " Mama! Papa!" maybe reminds me of him calling out to them, his childlike nature becoming even more apparent in the deadly environment of war. That and him saying that everyone here is cold hearted and the all have empty eyes and such. Idk, maybe that's just me. But good work anyways guys. Keep it up!
@proof-xx1vv7 жыл бұрын
okay, i'm not going to be all transcendent here but i do understand what the singer says and i think that he is singing about transitioning from being a teenager into adulthood and living on your own, because in the lyrics the first words are "I might have never got any shut-eye and i have no apetite" and "i can't take those empty gazes" and also "everyone has hearts made of stone". Your comment is pretty old, but i think you interpreted it pretty accurately because one would imagine that soldiers might get feelings of despair and exhibit symptoms of Stockholm syndrome, an illness that only "home" where your parents are can cure. And you're right especially at the end where the "eerie " Mama! Papa!" maybe reminds me of him calling out to them" as you mentioned, the same cries that a young adult would restrain from letting out in the harsh world of adulthood. i guess. Cool song though.

From what i'm reading and listening to, the lyrics means something to me. The son(guy in the video in first person) never moved on in life and was constantly lectured by his parents. To his perspective, he sees his father as an abuser. Which is why he ran away from home and him when he only was trying to talk to him. He now is trying to fit in with society and follow his dreams, but to no avail. He comes to his senses and comes back home to his parents, accepting their aid to have a better future.

I love this song. Hotline Miami 2 brought me here, Riddarna is keeping me. Great music! In the words I hear the story of someone who ran away from home (the reason why is up to the listener. ) and lands in a foreign place where they are welcomed by entrapment and suffering. unable to sleep, unable to eat, and trying to be positive despite everyone around them "looking down." then being unable to cope with everyone's "empty eyes and hearts of stone, ends up in trouble themselves and even if they must swim an ocean, they are coming home." sorry this is so long. its a wonderful, relatable piece of musical art. Greetings and praise from USA

+Riddarnavideos Really beautiful song. I don't know a word swedish but i kinda could make out the context and theme to this song. Just went through the lyrics and i feel confirmed. Hit home really hard because i know this feeling in a way, at least in the way i interpreted this song. As i understand it the man in this song simply yearns for affection and kindness in a world where brutality, coldness and harshness is being celebrated. He searches for emotional refuge at his parents and fails to do so. The most heart-tearing moment was the end where he finally reached his parents. Most of the time in the real world people are being denied affection and a warm heart. People distance themselves from emotions and their family in order to maintain "adult" and "stable". And sometimes these people get back to their true feelings and family when their life gets torn out of their hands by something.. Especially after playing Hotline Miami 1&2 the message comes across even stronger. I can relate to this message because i see the same story happening around me, people becoming cold-hearted, rejecting affection to be secure from possible rejection and emotional pain. For my part i have realized very early that this can destroy people living into adulthood. As long as you keep it true to yourself and close to your friends and family you don't have to live through this. I don't know if i missed the point or got it right, but that's how i see it.
