Although I love calling it riddim/dubstep, infekt lately has been trying to get the name "TRENCH" to catch on.

That's very interesting. Do you know if he is introducing that term to describe his particular style of riddim? I can see how it would be make sense, given the fact that the genre has been evolving and crossovers happening all the time, which would necessitate creating new names for the new branches of the "riddim tree." And riddim, of course, is itself a branch (sub-genre) of dubstep.

​@@radiantedj3452 i understood that all riddim is trench, they want to use the term trench because the term "riddim" is the Jamaican Patois pronunciation of the English word "rhythm". The derived genre originally stemmed from sun, reggae and dancehall. So basically i see why they want to use the term trench, but at the same time its not as punchy to say trench than it is to say riddim😂 for me riddim is always riddim
