Ride along - Light Force 26 LAFD

Ride along with Truck 26 of the Los Angeles City Fire department. Lightforce 26 is responding to a medical call in the West Adams area. Both ambulances and engine 26 were already out for other calls so the lightforce got the run. Lightforce 26 consists of Truck 26 and Engine 226, both units always respond together. //

I have had the privilege to know and be trained by a California Fire Captain who explained to me about the state governments decision to send units together like this. It was because of several incidents when the Firefighters were needed and were not there, sooooo... now every call for one unit requires the others to respond as well.

These services are essential that should be covered under a government's budget, and any responsible country would not impose a fee on them. Otherwise, you would have poor people that have life threatening injuries and needs to be transported in an ambulance but refuses since he/she cannot afford it.

our protocol starts as follows engine pulls up past the house ladder pulls in behind it. tanker/engine stages at water supply (until command notifies who to hook into) thats normally the first engine. 2 ambulances stages a street away until rehab and patient care is needed. this is the bare bones plan depending on location size of house ect. this plan changes dramatically

If you'll pay attention you'd notice that there's only 3 personnel on the tiller and only TWO on the engine. They're both too short staffed to operate independently if they wanted to. An engine for sure can't operate with 2. They ride together because the engine supplies water to the tiller and can't be seperated from it. It actually SAVES the city money.

The truck leads the engine because the captain 2 rides in the truck and he is in charge of the light force or task force, so when arriving on scene he needs to get the best view for his size up

I totally agree but the thinking is, if you send them out seperately and the tiller has a structure where it needs the engine for water tower operations and it's out on a medical then they have to wait.

@FloRider66 Der Westen ist sehr freundlich, die Mentalität/ das alltägliche Verhalten dort ist unbeschreiblich, einfach super, schön, freundlich :) Du kannst auch einfach mal so ne Wache besichtigen. Lässt sich bei den meisten ohne Probleme einrichten, die zeigen dir alles und kannst locker mal 2 Stunden da verbringen :) Fotos & Videos machen und auf YT ohne große Diskussionen, wird einfach erlaubt :) Jedoch scheint 7pm so die heilige Essenszeit zu sein, da möchten die eig. Ruhe ;)

Both rigs are sent to all calls because the LightForce Company is made up of either 5 or 6 guys i forgot which but say they cleared the medical call and then while enroute back to the station they get a structure fire, they would need both rigs and it would take to long to go back to the station and pick up the truck or the pumper and then head to the fire.

@FloRider66 Nachfragen.Spontan werden dass wohl nur sehr wenige machen. Schon frühzeitig Kontakt aufnehmen ist das Beste, so kannst du schon im Voraus planen. Ich hatte eig. auch einen Ride along in Page, AZ ausgemacht. Im nachhinein hat sich herausgestellt, dass ich noch 2 Jahre warten muss da ich erst 16 war und man erst ab 18 mitfahren darf.. nunja shit happens dafür hab ich ein seltenes Fahrzeug an dem Tag mit drauf bekommen :D Manche Städte jedoch machen gar keine RA's, z. B. Las Vegas F&R.
