I bought the same Bike. It's a 2021 Metallic Black & Red with ABS and I love it. I appreciate your video because everybody calls it a beginner bike (Wich it is) but also it's comfortable and as you said and fun. I've ridden dirt bikes since I was a kid, then I rode Harley's. Didn't ride for about 15 years, I was just about get a bagger, but my wife won't ride with me so I thought crotch rocket but I'm old and wanted something comfortable. For the price point you can't beat this bike.
@MathewUnderwood2 жыл бұрын
I enjoy it a lot more than my old R6 to be honest :) It seems that a lot of people judge a bike as beginner or not, solely by how fast it goes. Which, in my opinion, is irrelevant to most people. This is definitely easier to ride than some, but that is because it is an incredible bike haha.

@@MathewUnderwood I don't need a bike that does 200MPH because I will never need that much speed. I don't know if it's because I'm used to dirt bikes or the bigger bikes I've had. I just wish it had a little more snap or (power band) off the line. I like it to be right there when I hit the throttle. In other words I like the low end to be fast because once you're up to 80 or 90 MPH on the highway your pretty much goo to go.

@@MathewUnderwood I really do like the 650. We don't plan on any long motorway trips and it's really nice round the twisties as well. Contemplating on changing the exhaust as I think the parallel twin sound from stock exhaust is not one of it's assets (although once you open it up it's not that bad).

@@MathewUnderwood would you recommend this bike for a starter? If so why and if not why not?
@MathewUnderwood3 жыл бұрын
From my short time with it, I would definitely recommend it. No matter what you choose, it is always wise to be responsible and keep within your comfort zone while riding. This bike is very comfortable and forgiving. Of course, sit on one first, bounce it between your legs (testing the weight by leaning it side to side just a little) see how it feels. Everyone is built different. But yes, it is a tame bike. It has a bit more power than a 300, but it is not overwhelming. Also to be honest, when I started riding, I spent a lot of time in an empty parking lot getting comfortable with the bike.

Nice video. I am UK side and about to buy a brand new ninja 650. I had a cbr500r and was wondering whether it would be enough of a step up but, like my last one, I fell in love with the looks and I'm still relatively new to motorbikes again so there's plenty of time. Anyway, enjoyed the video, you have a nice chatty style. Keep up the good work. Dave 👍
@MathewUnderwood2 жыл бұрын
I think you will love it :) It is a lovely bike. I dont know if the cbr500r is an inline 4 or vtwin. If it is an inline-4, switching from that to a v-twin might feel like it is missing something, but that is just because the powerband is different. Anyways, thank you a bunch for the encouragement :)

@@MathewUnderwood cheers, thanks for the reply, gotta love the internet this way and the connections lol. I am not too sure, just really into sports looking bikes and being brand new I like the shininess of it lol. I think it can do 0 to 60 in over a second less so that works for me.
