We live 1 hour from The Dragon and I've ridden it since before it had a name. I'm over it now, sadly though it's a good cut through to many other riding places. Cherohala is also up there with The Byway and Newfound Gap for us.

Brian, those are most excellent closing comments. We all only go around once. Up in those hills, they have a name for Northerners, who moved to Florida, and then moved to those mountains. They call 'em "halfbacks;" the implication being, they moved halfway back to their starting point. It is not a derogatory term, and is often used in jest. I suggest, (and aspire to) live up there for half the year, and live the other half down is S. Fla. While they are nice to their visitors, they are very clannish, and being accepted on a full time basis is another issue. If I ever make the move, I'll move into a neighborhood of halfbacks.

Once again you knocked it out of the park Brian. Great video and love the Smokies. Being from Indiana, that was our spot to hit. Though at the time I didn't have a bike. So we would come down to go hiking all the trails. It's definitely one of the best places to tour . Our Indian Riders group is planning on going on the end of Aug for 10 days, can't wait for it. Glad you two were able to make it up there.

Although the night while traveling to it there was many foggy spots but it was still a great experience, once we got where we were staying we stood at the end of the drive way and off in the distance you could see a streak of lights going up the side of the mountain. There was a spot with a tall tree trunk that i would stand on top of in the middle of the night and you could look down and see the town all lit up. I didnt wanna leave😂 ive seen a few really pretty spots but the smoky mountains is definitely a place you should go if youve never been

You definitely want to ride it on a better bike though. It’s all curves and that bike looks like it can lean about 15 degrees. That would ruin the experience.

Prayer. Hahaha, oh you mean Barbara? LOL. We use the Sena units. She has a few different ones but the 20 is her most frequent and I have 30’s on a couple different helmets. Honest they’re fine but could be better. I’d switch to Cardo because everyone raves about them but we have too many of the Sena’s.

Hey Brian, Im a new rider and would love to plan a trip like that. Is there any way to get any info on where to stay and the routes you guys took.
@TwoIndians3 жыл бұрын
Hey George! You caught me editing so i saw your comment pop up. If you go back and look at some of our early videos from like a year before I do show some of the routes on maps but you'll have to pause the video to see exactly where they are. The major ones are easy to find with Google and theyre all in the same area. #1 Cherohala Skyway (take the detour to Bald River Falls), #2 Foothills Parkway, # 3 441 from Gatlinburg to Cherokee, #4Moonshiner 28 from Deal's Gap all the way to Franklin NC. Honrable mentions are Fighting Creek Gap Road, and Wayah Rd. Blue Ridge Parkway of course. Stellar. Stay in Robbinsville which is central to it all but if you Stay in Murphy or nearby you can hit just about anything from there. Stop in Bryson City for lunch. You really wanna have fun run on GA 60 from McCayesville through Suches down towards Helen. Amazinfgriding. I have video on most of these. We also love staying in Highlands NC, very boujie as the kids say but the riding around there is also superior. you can't go wrong anywhere up in that area. Where you from? Follow us on FB and IG too!
