Wow, everything is so grown over, the Navy kept the growth back. It looks so different. I was stationed at MMU-1 down in Naval Magazine from 84/86. My last time there was 90.

This video brings back lots of very fond memories. I served with Marine Barracks, Company B from 1986-1989. I lived in Cubi Point at the old BOQ barracks in 2013. --- Semper Fi!!!!

As you drove by the old Mariners Club I saw the words "Blue Ribbon something " above the entrance way. Used to be one of the best clubs in the Pacific Fleet and Cubi PT open 24/7 in it's day. I stumbled down those steps many a time and crawled back to my barracks room hoping we were not called for duty LOL...Thanks for the memories 👍

Shame to see the area so run down with little maintenance ongoing. Navy dependent 71-73 at NavCommSta San Miguel (Zambales province north of Subic) and Navy active duty deployed WestPac 80 and 82. I know the bases suffered major damage in the Mt. Pinatubo eruption, but very little seems happening to repair or maintain these facilities.

Subic Naval Base is not the same as it used to be. They should have to develop that place so that tourists could visit SBMA more often. SBMA management is rubbish.

Me and my Filipina appreciate your video. I like how you point out what the bldg's used to be. We're moving there to the Tiara Bldg in a few weeks. Not much is up there as far as restruants and stores. Im hoping it continues to grow or the US Military comes back in some fashion. Definitely need a motor.

Thank you for the tour of Cubi Point! I was with the Seabees and I stayed in the enlisted barracks. I thought that it was the first barracks and the enlisted club was a short walk from the barracks. Everything is not familiar to me. When I was deployed in 1972 we moved 49 houses into the officers housing in Kalyan. I saw a video but everything is unrecognizable because of fifty years of trees growing! If you have done a video or tour of the housing project please let me know. Thanks again

3:28 NAS Medical, Dental, Legal - 3:36 to 3:40 BOQ, the entryway on the right was the Officer's closed mess - 9:11 O-Club, or Officer's Open Mess, home of the infamous WestPac "Dilbert Dunker" behind the club building.

I think Clark Freeport Zone management did a great job at the former Clark Air Base compared to SBMA management, look what they did at the former Subic Naval Base. Look at the roads, too dirty, buildings are not well maintained, grass everywhere, etc. Former Subic Naval Base become the third world area now. It is been said before by the politician there that they would make SBMA like Hong Kong. Now it become a slum area.

I’ve seen vlogs of the old base. Not very impressive! I don’t see many people around at all in them. Clark has done much much better! It’s a waste!

Who is the current SBMA Chairman? He or she is doing a shitty job as OIC of the former US Naval Base. The roads are not properly maintained, construction debris just got dumped on the road, trees, bushes not trimmed, no maintenance on the buildings. The people of Olongapo must demand for a new Chair with strong leadership skills, hardworking, with visions to protect the environment and lastly honest.
