Now through the end of October 2019 we have launched a TeeSpring campaign to raise funds for equipment for the channel, but to also give back to the community. Our goal is $6,000.00 with $3,000.00 being split between two animal rescues here in OKC. Rabbit Rescue OKC and All Paws Rescue. Help out so that we can provide them with the donations to aid their needs for food, toys, bedding, and all other needs for the foster animals while they look for a home. Visit the TeeSpring store:
teespring.com/stores/rabid-he...
and if you need gear anything bought from American Legend Rider through my link will also be added to the total and can be found here:
americanlegendrider.com/?rfsn...
Also for each $500.00 we go over you win as well. We will be giving away a new GoPro Black edition of whatever the top tier is at the end of the campaign, so 7 or 8. And more than one can win. If you purchase from any of the channels above please keep the receipt because we will ask for proof, go like our Facebook page, and comment "I'm In," and we will select a random winner. Must be a US resident.

When I bought mine I had to ride it 250 miles home from the dealership. I kept finding myself doing 90+ by accident. Even the slightest throttle adjustment made me jump from 50 to 90 and back again in damn near an instant.

My 2014 Valkyrie's name is Elsa. Not a true Nordic Viking name but Germanic and that's close enough for me. None of my other 5 Bikes I've owned since 1978 have had a name. But with her, it seemed right. 1978 was the last time I owned a car and ride year round to work. Elsa is for my weekends.

2014 GL1800C with Power Commander 5 Auto Tune system to give it a little more punch. But first time I gassed it with the PV5 installed I almost lost my grip on the bars, It wanted to go on without me! Happy with the power up now with a small drop in MPG. Also added - center stand, LED fog lights, the Honda shorty windscreen, and Honda rear carrier rack. For long trips I install the Honda tall wind shield and a GIVI 46L trunk. The Honda accessories are very strong, the rack is super solid and the tall shield is by for the strongest handlebar mount windscreen I have ever seen! 120 MPH no problem with helmet visor up!

Hey dude.. I am enjoying this video of yours right now. I bought my new 14' Valk in 15'. I have owned many motorcycles and this bike is by far the most amazing bike I have ever owned. Your assessment is accurate, however I do need to point out that the rear suspension is adjustable. If you turn it back about halfway from full load, it actually rides very nicely. I weight about 185lbs, and it seems perfect there. At full capacity the rear wheel would skip over bumps on the highway under throttle... If you think it fast the way you are currently riding it... you only have *some* insight into what that machine can really be! First of all she needs about 12K on the odometer before the engine really starts producing max power. She also benefits for Lucas OIl 10w/30 full synthetic motorcycle racing oil... NGK Iridiuim plugs, ethanol free gas (or ethanol treated with a additive in the tank) and lastly..MOST IMPORTANTLY..... she needs DIFFERENT TIRES. Put on a set Michelin Pilot 5s or Pirelli Angel GTs and you have a completely different bike. It rolls FAR smoother, quicker, and in the turns...total sport touring bike... I smoke 80-90% of anything on the road with a total ease... with the exception of large displacement true sport bikes and 600hp super sports cars.... The sound of the pipes loosen up with mileage too... It sounds wonderful stock! You get the revs up and it sounds just like a European sports car...nothing on the road like it...PLUS under conservative throttle positions it gets nearly 50mpg. It has a 6.5 gallon fuel tank so you NEVER worry about running out of gas...I can go 250mi easily without thinking of needing fuel. I can't believe Honda didn't sell more of these bikes.... simply brilliant design...
@mattpetty1
@mattpetty1 Жыл бұрын
People are surprised when I tell them I get 50 mpg just like you. Range on the tank? The same. I'm happy to cruise at 63 -65 mph with the wind hitting my chest I don't have to work sitting up right. Not looking at the speedometer, I will look down and find myself right there. I've done some long runs doing 75 but it really hit's me in the fuel economy .

Thank you for another great motorcycle review, Hedgehog! Your excitement in riding the bike was plain to hear in your voice. So a question for you, if you do not mind. As a former owner of the V-rod Nightrod, how would you compare this bike in performance to the Nightrod?
@RabidHedgehog
@RabidHedgehog 5 жыл бұрын
Ooooooo that's fun. The Night Rod was literally a like a club. It was brutal in everything it did but it was fast and would scream to top speeds like a scalded ape. The Valkyrie does all this very differently. It's like the difference between a hopped up muscle car like a Camaro or Mustang vs. a Ferrari. This bike is fast but does it in such a natural way. It's smooth, composed, sophisticated so unlike the Night Rod. I'd say they're on par with each other in straight lines and the cornering goes to the Night Rod.
@flyingcatfish
@flyingcatfish 5 жыл бұрын
Rabid Hedgehog nice! Thanks for that comparison. The Valkyrie has always been an interesting bike. Well I have two videos on the CB1100 and both seemed to be more serious. There were a ton of unrecorded bits heading to the field/parking lot so I was giggling from those still (teammates were in a Slingshot and we know which is faster). I am impressed with this machine and it is a happy giggle fest for sure. I have giggle my fair share on the CB and usually I do not post those..... Um antics.... I had a blast and lots of giggles during a 7 hour course at OSU OKC with the CB1100 as it allowed us to blast down a .75 ish mile track and I was chewing up the other riders and there was nothing there that could hang with her except my teammate's GSXS750 and he is not there just yet in riding level so I was eating him alive too with that CB and it shocked so many people how good it made me look, I am saying the bike was that good not me. This bike would be another fun bike but no where near that level of precision and balance as the 1100.

@RabidHedgehog 4 жыл бұрын
You're slightly taller and lighter. I have to say both are great fits. The CB will get better fuel mileage and a more authentic style old school feel and is really good in the turns and just cruising. The Valkyrie is smoother, more potent, and benefits from its big weight and big everything in terms of long ride comfort. I would say if you plan on just going about town and city to get the CB. If going about the country get the Valkyrie.

This one was sold as far as I can see now and I am not sure for what price point it was at. I would say take a look at the local cycle trader or Honda shops to see what they have left. The closet thing Oklahoma has to a Valkyrie leftover from that same model year is an F6B and they want around 11 for it.

There are more differences between the Valk and the Wing than just the lack of fairings and luggage. There is a completely different exhaust system which adds about 5 more HP. Doesn't sound like much, but +5hp -150 pounds of luggage and fairing = big performance increase. The rake and trail angles are more aggressive. The wheels are an inch larger front and rear, making the bike slightly taller. Bigger brakes.

I've been riding Hondas for ever and I think their styling is sucking big time. I currently ride the old Val. and think Honda should get a medal for making the ugliest bikes on planet. Ruined my Val. first with Rune now this ugly thing. Sorry rabid been wanting to vent for awhile
