😂 Richard, as always very thorough and informative review, many thanks for the insights and hacks!! As for the multi-media on the MS V4S…. Less than impressed. As you say this is a premium bike and I expected more from the TFT integration. The bike is awesome and that affords Ducati some time. But sooner or later one of the big manufactures will crack the code. The tech is a huge selling feature for all of them yet they don;t seem to be able to get it right. BMW, Triumph will be releasing new bikes in the next 12 months, Ducati/Sygic need to get this fixed and fast. For people who like to use their bikes and enjoy touring this is hugely important and right now this creates a bit of a bad smell in the owner experience (😉). Come on Ducati! You need to figure this out for your customers. It should be intuitive (Apple like), in its simplicity and it needs to work. Unfortunately, this is taking away from the owner experience…

Great video, thanks for sharing Richard. The initial connection set up with Ducati connect, then Sygic is very awkward. Also I have had the navigation freeze during a route. Had to pull over and start process over. It is better than it was so maybe some minor improvements have been made. The other issue is where to put the phone. It gets too hot in the compartment and the app seems to drain the battery fast so you want it charging. I bought a ram mount for an existing garmin but have not put that on yet.

It's glitchy at present for sure. My iPhone 12 Pro Max doesn't fit in the compartment, so I had to spring for a wireless quad-lock, which doesn't charge as fast as a hard-wired cable, and as you said the app is definitely a battery power drain. Although the wireless charging quad-lock itself seems to perform well/badly in a totally random way, irrelevant of which apps you have running. 🤷

Great info. But this whole set up is irritating as hell. Sometimey connection and then Sygic has completely frozen for 10s of miles on me in the past. Ducati get a damn clue and do Apple Car Play and Android Auto and allow riders to use what they want.

It's frustrating isn't it, Scott. I can say that whenever Ducati Connect is the selected app, I always have a permanent TFT connection to the apps including Sygic. But this is WIFI as well as BlueTooth) connectivity dependant, And that's of little use when e.g. The waypoints in a route on their website get resequenced when transferred to their app. This is very basic software testing 101 and should never have made it to production! Sygic will run on Car Play, but most people will use Waze, which unfortunately doesn't support multiple waypoints, which most motorcyclists want. Ultimately I agree with you though Scott, just go Car Play / Android Auto, like Honda. Perfect for Waze/Music and run a Beeline if we want bespoke directional routes.

I, too, am disappointed with Sygic and the Infotainment system overall with the Multi V4S. Well, disappointed is an understatement. For a bike this expensive the infotainment system is a complete POS. Just my $.02. Why does it block you from listening to music in Sport mode? Makes no sense. I installed a Garmin Zumo XT on an Iconic mount and I’m happy with it. Not happy with the additional cost of the Garmin, but it works great for me. It really is a nice piece of kit. I also like having the two screens and it looks like it came from the factory with the Iconic mount. It’s a real nice set up and being able to listen to music through the Garmin independent of the bike restrictions is nice. I’ve been using Sena headsets for so long its natural to use the headset for volume up/down and to skip tracks. I don’t usually use the phone while riding unless it’s the warden calling (wife), but I know some like that feature. Keep up the great videos, Richard! They are very well done and I enjoy watching them.

I'm fitting an iconic mount for my quad-lock tomorrow. It seems like everyone is either going Zumo or iPhone for their navigation until Ducati/Sygic get their act together. Many thanks for your kind comments Jason!

Hi Richard, nice video so interesting, j would like just to inform the community than i also informed Ducati Factory about so similar wrap up and they called me twice to follow progress and feedback after one motorcycle software update, even that the outcome was so similar fo iphone, so i decided to test the Samsung of my wife and it works better, so conectivity was better and other swift fuctions like music or phone, even Sygic has an additional button to check the waypoints or passpoints, but not control about it, so i resumed everything and shared with Ducati Italy again, they told me than tehy are pushing Bosch and Sygic and in continous improvemet, so waiting for news,,, meanwhile i´ll buy a Garmin zumo so in long route it´s better have a dedicated device for route advise and also the music and phone could run direct to the mobile through garmin Zummo ,,,, Thanks and we are in contact. Thanks Oscar. I've had a couple of communications with Sygic support now. One point they say they're working on is differences (incorrect waypoint resequencing) between the website entries and the Sygic phone app. I'm sure it'll be brilliant by next year, but in the interim we may have to bite our lips... or buy a Zumo!

Got recently Multistrada V4 S. Actually there is no Bosch connectivity option on Android settings. I am Italian but it is so dumb that you can't lock your iPhone or Android otherwise the app do not work :-D C'mon Ducati! Make it better for God sake!

Sygic AND Ducati Connect are complete POS. For the price we pay for this bike Ducati just get Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Stop playing

Don’t waste your time. Garbage. Bosch apps stink. Use your phone. Booo Ducati. I wonder if Harley has Apple Car Play on their new adventure bike?

It's a work in progress, which simply isn't good enough for us owner beta testers. They will eventually sort it out I'm sure, but it's a cluster at the moment.
