I agree with you Sir Richard 100%. The M package is a beautiful kit! Carbon fiber used is top shelf. Gorgeous! The XR is really the whole package IMHO. Well balanced in it’s stance just sitting there. Stunning. Sounds amazing too. You were cooking it out there in your backyard mate! Nice job. You mountainous region riders can bake those corners. 😂 To your well made points. If it were me. I tend to lean more to that Swiss Army knife go anywhere equipment. As it’s suitability is a bit more robust in “all situations”, than say a precision Formula One. Though the XR has it’s gene pool mapping. It’s unique and abilities are surprising. Anyway you slice it though, the motorcycles of today produced by these companies are being pushed out of their comfort zones and creating very tarmac slaying, apex predator, scalpel-like machines. I rode the M1000XR. Great bike. I want one. Expensive at $30K. And right now it seems they're all sold out anyway.

They're hard to get hold of, you'll need to be willing to buy out of state, but put out enough feelers and you'll geet lucky sooner or later.
