I made a 9 minute loop of Ride On Time by way of learning how to use the VST version of the Korg M1 workstation, famous for its piano sounds used in a lot of house music from the 90’s. The bass, organ and piano are all played on the M1. (The drums are samples of the TR909, another ‘classic’ Japanese instrument from that era.) M1 does not sound particularly realistic or amazing. I know this because I used to own a physical Korg T2 (similar to M1). But the unrealistic sound of its piano presets are so bright and almost harsh that they stand out and sound amazing when used in house music.
