Ride the Lowcountry is an event hosted by Coastal Cyclists in Awendaw, SC. There are 33, 43, 65, and 100 mile courses on beautiful roads, with rest areas, SAG vehicles, and lunch at the end! I had a great time and met a lot of other local cyclists!

Hell of a ride man. That average speed was beastly. It's funny following you on Strava now seeing that you've done some of the GAP and C+O in the past. If you ever make your way up to MD again, I'll join ya for some GAP trail riding! Could be some cool content.

That sounds like a good time! I did a tour from Ohio to DC hitting the GAP & C&O en route. Rode a heavily packed bike & camped. I’ve always wondered if I could do the whole thing in two days on a gravel bike.

Couldn’t have asked for a better, faster course! I need a power meter - those watts are what Strava calculates - can’t imagine they’re anywhere near accurate!

@@ericbarnettcycling Ride was great! Smashed my goal of 5 hours with a nice 4:35:47 moving time, I went out with the 20-22 pace group. We mostly kept it between 22 and 24 and did the last 10 miles between 24-26. The group was a solid 40-50 riders.

Fantastic job, shows you bike is fine for flat land short events. Maybe that's you jam. It just takes a different mindset and setup for ultra-endurance solo riding. These are all things I am sorting out. Snallygaster 200 in September

There’s so much I’d still like so work out. This bike was just to get me into a nice road bike quickly. I’m thinking about more of an endurance bike, different wheel options, possibly aero bars, etc. So far, I’ve just been diving into things and sorting out after the fact what I should work on. I’m interested in your setup for your event - what bike are you riding and how are you training?

Wow, that's soooo cool. Fantastic ride at a helluva pace! Amazing scenery too. Was there so little agricultural land because it's a National Park or did you just pick out the nicest bits for your video?

It was a great ride and a beautiful day! Combination of being in a National park and a lot of the land being swamp in this part of South Carolina.

Strava is a cycling/running tracking app. I upload my outdoor rides from my Garmin and my Zwift rides go there, too. I have it on my phone and on my computer. It’s free, but you can get a monthly subscription for more features (not really necessary).
